Hi fellow cruisers.

Booked a 14 nighter on Norwegian Spirit from Barcelona to Venice from July 6 to July 20, 2015. Just wondering what the weather should be like including the sea conditions.

Cheers Bob & Chris.:):):)

Hot and sunny, hopefully. Sea conditions can vary at anytime.

Hi guys.

Just need to know if it is really windy in the Med in July normally?????

Cheers Bob & Chris.

Depends where you are...just like the weather in the US...changes all the time, and if hot the winds can be welcome to be honest, but they are not on a daily basis if at all.

I'm not sure where your concern about wind comes from

although summer storms are possible they would be the exception rather than the rule

The Mediterranean being an enclosed body of water would expect sea conditions to be calmer than out in the Atlantic

The Med's 2,400 miles long with average depth of water 5,000 feet. There's plenty of room for storms to build up rough seas if they want to - it's enclosed, but it's not just a little lake.

  • 4 weeks later...

We have been going to the Med for some years and luckily have never had a whole heap of poor weather. July will be hot, and as others have stated poor weather can come at anytime. Last year while in Venice (July) a wind blew up one lunch time and the heavens opened -quite a wet couple of hours.

I have seen while on a cruise lightning in the distance

We missed our stop in St Tropez a few years ago in July because it was too windy to get the tenders in the water safely, so you never know.
