Free NCL cruise from Twin River Casino?

I got a card in the mail yesterday from Twin River Casino in Rhode Island for a free cruise on NCL. Did anyone else get this? At first I thought it might be one of the time share type "free cruise" scams. But, those never actually list the cruise line and this says there will be reps from NCL on hand to make reservations. The card said that the only fees I need to pay are the government taxes. Has anyone ever gotten one of these from a casino players club? Was it legit?

I know nothing about Twin River, but can tell you that this sounds fine. We have had similar offers from other casinos that sound exactly like this. It is real. NCL Casinos At Sea is agressive in getting players to come onboard so they can then "scam them" - as in casino losses. Yes, you pay the normal taxes and port fees most times $200-$300.

Might be an OV room with offers to pay to upgrade.

I did not get a card but I did see there T/V commercial for weekly N.C.L. free cruise give away.

I think they did it last year also.

I think I may have won it, I was just looking on their website and I was there one of the days that you needed to be there to be entered.

You might have won something, or you might just fit the profile.

We had a similar invitation from Caesar's, as have many other people.

It's legit....but there ARE black-out dates....

Perfectly Kosher as they say, it's legit .... Casino & NCL marketing at work all the time to fill the cabins (inside, usually) I know that one of the former Mohegan Sun senior casino host is/was marketing heavily for CAS locally here ....

Niece's DH has recent offers from Foxwood in CT and Harrah's in AC offering them free cruise for 2 - you are responsible for taxes, port charges & other fees, etc. Their host said, when asked "AFAIK, you won't get a 1099 for the IRS for it" when questioned on whether it's possible to be taxed on such gift & what's the "fair market value" on cruise for 2. Perhaps it's just below the reportable limits to the tax collectors, LOL ??? :D

We haven't been to Vegas in over 2 years and we recently got a similar offer and it was for NCL too, cruise for 2, 5 nights out of Orleans or 7 nights out of Miami - all we needed is to be there next weekend to receive our certificate & all the details.

It's a good thing we're already booked & sailing NCL this weekend - I told DH that it will probably end up costing us MORE to spend 3 "comp" nights in Vegas, after airfare, car rental & daily gaming plays vs. the value of such offer(s) - such an enticing deal really isn't FREE or such a bargain, it will end up costing more than if we're just plan it on our own - even if there are no blackout dates.

I just got this offer from Twin River too. I got one last year also and called to ask one of the hosts some details about it.

It's only for certain itineraries and select date ranges (but there was a healthy selection to choose from). The # of days you are eligible for is determined by your level of play with the casino. So a small player may only be eligible for a 3-4 nighter in an inside cabin. Bigger players could be eligible for 7 nights or more in higher categories. She said that adding nights or upgrading categories was a possibility if you paid the difference. She was sort of vague about the latter stuff but said that NCL reps on site for the offer day could explain all details.

I have received two free cruises in the last two years from Resorts casino in Atlantic city and used them both. They were 7 day cruises. Had my choice of leaving from NY or Seattle or Europe. Did the Bermuda from NY for both. I was only charged the taxes and port charges for both around 300.00 for each of us. You can also take additional people at a discounted casino rate of 17%. Everyone in your cabin gets a free drink card to use for the whole trip in the casino only. You also get VIP boarding and free goodies in your room a few nights during your trip. Go and have a great time.

DH got a card from Atlantic City Hilton last year and went to check it out. He did receive a voucher for a balcony cabin free for 2 people on NCL. We decided to bring the kids and upgrade the cabin type so the voucher value was applied to the price of the cruise. He got it again this year but the cabin type was an inside. We used it again to book but had to pay more because the voucher value was less due to the different cabin type. Still not a bad deal.

I've received several offers from Caesars to fly to Las Vegas to pick up a cruise offer, but, as mentioned, this could be more expensive than the cruise itself. Luckily for me, I also received two offers from Caesars Windsor, which is just across the river from Detroit. Last year, I went on a four-night cruise, and this April I am going on a seven-night cruise through Casinos at Sea. There is no catch. They just expect you to utilize the casino, which I did on last year's cruise. I actually hit twice on a 7-number Keno machine, same numbers about a half hour apart, for $1,750 each. What surprised me is that I was given a W-2G form for each jackpot. When I asked why, I was told because NCL is U.S.-based.

Anyway, this 7-day cruise is costing me $458 for port fees and government taxes and an upgrade to a balcony cabin. I don't think this deal can be beat this deal.

I received this offer from Bally's in AC. I was able to book a 7 day Western Carribean out of New Orleans. After booking the inside room using the certificate (only taxes & port charges apply), I paid the difference and upgraded to a suite. Price couldn't be beat.

Hi

How was the slot on the Norweign Epic?

If you're asking how the slots are on the Epic: The Epic has a huge casino, spread over the entire width of one deck and quite long. There are plenty of new slot machines of all different denominations and types.

As with any ship's casino, payback percentages are probably lower than a land based casino. There are a few good machines scattered around, if you find one, hang on to it!

In spite of it's size, the casino can get quite crowded and smoky at night. There is a small "non-smoking" area tucked away in one corner of the casino.

My hubby rec'd a Passport for a free NCL cruise from our local casino. Went to receive it, spoke to one of the reps there from NCL. It is a free cruise for 2, inside cabin. We chose a 7 day Alaska cruise. We are responsible for port taxes, fees. We called to book today, and were told that the cost would be $990. Sure seems a bit high for a free cruise? any thoughts please. I'm a new poster, would appreciate any feedback. Thanks,

I've gotten two cruises from twin river . We paid for the upgrades but basically came to half price for a 7 day cruise on the Dawn. That we just took ( 7/10 ) and the one we are taking in February on the Breakaway. I hope I get more because as long as they send them to me I'll take them [emoji6]

This is legit. I have received two cruises so far from Foxwoods in CT, just a little south of Twin Rivers. The first cruise I was unable to use but I am using the second cruise in October. Just booked yesterday! :D

Once you go to the casino and get your certificate it will come with a booklet with black out dates in red (which are sailings you are not eligible for) and then the rest will be in black (that you are eligible for). The certificate will also list the cruises (departure and port(s)) that you can choose from and the date range. You usually have about two months to book (I received mine in May and the deadline to book is July 31, 2015). I was able to get an inside cabin on the Dawn from Boston to Bermuda, the UBP, and priority boarding (this is standard with CAS) for just under $400 pp - this is only the taxes, fees, and gratuity.

Definitely take advantage and happy sailing!

$495/person sounds high.

ask for a breakdown.

ncf should be about $185 per person.

if so, then I guess port fees for Alaska is $310/person.

for my free Bahamas cruise it was ~$325 total.

ncf = $185 and port fees were about $140.

wait.. did you get any promos?

ultimate beverage package adds ~$85/person

Got this last year and used it, it is legitimate. You'll pay taxes and fees, around $300pp total for a 7 day cruise, less for 3/4 day. You'll be given a list of cruises to select from and a deadline to choose or lose the deal. Definitely go pick up your certificate.

I really appreciated the offer and loved my NCL experience.

Did you write down the itemized charges? Taxes and fees may be higher in AK and did they also quote you for insurance? Those might explain the price. It still works out to less that $150/ night for cruise, food and entertainment. However $1,000 you weren't planning to spend can be a lot.
