Default Do you need a passport to go to St. John from a St Thomas port stop?

We are porting in St Thomas in October and want to book an excursion through Carnival. I thought I heard a few years ago that you need a passport to go to St John. Is this true?

TIA!

Not likely since St.John is a U.S. territory as well.

The US Vrigin Islands are a territory of the United States and do not require a passport for US Citizens.

No passport is needed for St John as it is part of the US Virgin Islands (USVI) along with St Thomas and St Croix.

You do need a passport (or a raised seal BC and gov't issued picture ID) to take an excursion to the British Virgin Islands (BVI) which typically includes stops at Virgin Gorda (the Baths), Tortola (Marina Cay), and Jost Van Dyke (White Bay & the Soggy $ Bar) in case you've heard those names. Definitely a great excursion although you spend more time getting there and back from St Thomas.

But the Carnival excursion to Trunk Bay on St John is a good one too, that was our first excursion on our first visit to St Thomas years ago. Have a great day and enjoy the beautiful beaches!

For some reason I thought it was BVI ... I was getting it mixed up with Tortola!

That's what I figured as it is easy to mix them up.

I see you're on the Liberty, we enjoyed our 25th anniversary on the Liberty in 2007 and we were on her sister ship the Freedom for our 30th last month. Both great ships, have a great cruise!
