Default James Ibrahim/ CD

James Ibrahim will be our Cruise Director on the Grand later this month. How is he as a CD? Is he entertaining, funny? Is he approachable or more reserved?

He is an Australian! Need I say anymore? Australians are very friendly people, I have sailed with James out of Auckland, NZ. I think he is a very nice young man. However, for many Americans, the sense of humours are very different, I have read comments where it seems to me that James humour has just been downright MISSED! I hope you enjoy him.
Perhaps when you come back you can post for me. We are joining the Grand in mid September, I keep wondering if James will still be on board. It would be wonderful to catch up with him again. There you go I have given you and excuse to speak to him, to ask for the Kiwi how long he will remain on board.

We have been trying to organise an on-board meeting for our Roll Call for the sailing on Grand Princess on 16th July to the Norwegian Fjords. I e-mailed James Ibrahim direct (grandprincess@princesscruises.com and marked it for the attention of Jame Ibrahim CD). Within a few hours John had replied to let me know that arrangements were in hand for our group to meet in the Wheelhouse Bar on day after sailing. We had invited him to pop along so that we could thank him personally but his further reply informed us that he will not be on the Grand for our sailing on 16th July - we will be having Billy London. Whether or not James will be with the Grand later in the season I do not know but I guess you could try e-mailing him.

Good Luck with your plans

Hi Suron

I guess he might just be on for a short time, maybe heading back down-under. Shame really cause like most of us down here we all have that rather dumb English sense of humour and he would have suited you all very well I think.

I might just try emailing him and I hope you have a great cruise also, maybe next year we might try for a cruise out of the UK and visit all DHs brothers and sisters at the same time.

Default James

James was our cruise director as well. He's a nice guy and quite funny. The morning shows were always very entertaining. This is a picture of me with James on the last day of the cruise. I really enjoyed him as a CD. Even better would be if he is paired up with Julie James. They are both Aussies, and they are both spectacularly nice people. Hope you get him.

He was our cruise director 2 weeks ago. He was very good, in fact the best we have had. He had a great chemistry with his assistant Julie. The morning show on TV was always hilarious.

Thanks everyone for your replies. James will be on the Grand for the May 26th sailing for sure. As far as Aussies go, I love their sense of humor. But tell me, are they all named James?!! When we were on the Freedom of the Seas last August, our CD was James Andrews from Melbourne. He was hilarious.

Val, New Zealand is one of my favorite places. When we were on the Tahitian Princess in '05, we met a lovely couple from Warkworth. They were our tablemates, and we really enjoyed ourselves. Anyway, when we did the Diamond Princess cruise NZ to Aust. in '06 we planned to meet them for dinner atop the Skytower. As it turned out, they wanted us to go home with them (even though we had a hotel), and we are so glad we did! Kiwi hospitality is fabulous. We have been emailing for two years now; and we consider them dear friends, even though we don't get to see them.

You might want to peek at our in depth review with pictures of our trip down under at www.thepreismans.com

Suron, on that same website, we also have a review of our Jewel of the Seas voyage to the Norwegian Fjords. We started out in London.
