After some major grumbling (villagers with pitchforks) Princess is now offering pax who wish to debark here in Seattle, FULL REFUND of cruise and hotel, incidentals and Air to point of origin. Thus far about 75 pax have signed up for the leave ship option.

For all those who stay with reduced itinerary, $500 credit.

We are staying and hoping someone leaving is vacating a suite.

Steve: It is great to hear your good attitude. I do hope you get into one of the gorgeous suites.
My DH and I were on the ship this week and it was a wonderful cruise. The weather was "out of this world" with beautiful sunshine and clear skys at night.
We do have some major questions about the handeling of embarkation and disembarkation here at Pier 30 in Seattle.
We got into port at noon and we did not get off until 5 P.M. !!
The best place to sit and enjoy the scenery is up in Skywalkers. We were there yesterday as we "slowly" cruised home from Victoria. We were told we could not go over 7 knots. Had been cruising at 21 and 22 knots before the shaft was damaged to the props.
Enjoy the internet while you can. It was not working most of the week.....I did use it a couple of times but most of the time it was off. We had a power outage one day and that damaged the internet transmissions to all of the ship.
Be sure to have a meal in Sabatini's...the service is great and the meal fantastic. Worth the $20 for something special.
We also enjoyed Sterlings. The primerib and New York steak was extra good.

Best of luck to you Srphnx, I would have stayed too. I'm sure Princess will offer nonstop entertainment to make up for the problems. Looks like you'll just have to add one more Diamond Alaska to your other 4 diamond cruises lol. Have a great trip and hope you get a great upgrade, you certainly deserve it.

Blanke, sorry it took you so long to get off the ship yesterday.

If anyone hears about when the repairs are goiong to take place, I'd sure like to know. Happy sailings all.

SRPHNX reported in the DIAMOND 5/29/04 post that this morning it was travelling at 18 knots. The 7 knot speed was on the way into Seattle from Victoria

Good for you! But what are people so grumpy about? Because the ship got bumped by the wind and has to bypass Juneau?

cydspal -- according to Cruise News Daily, the ship had minor damage which has been repaired. It does not need a drydock and is able to sail at full speed.
