We had our own photographer for example (Rebecca Davidson - not cheap, but highly recommended), organised our own limo (for the groom & best man) but added in the horse & cariage through GOH, specified the floral arrangements but did not have the boquet (because I bought this with me), I specified the cake decor & size etc.............pretty well everything was tailored to our very own wedding specifications/ requirements.

That's what I really liked about GOH - you could just purchase a package & tick a few preference boxes, if that's what you wanted....or you could completely specify pretty much every detail.
Ya, Desiree has responded and we seem to be coming up with a nice package that we want without the stuff we don't feel we need. Your story was a great inspiration for us choosing this place...you should get some sort of commission! Your pictures are beautiful!

We originally were going to get married on April 25, 09 but dedcided to do the cruise thing and then just booked it sooner.
Wow! The balcony rooms all in a row sound awesome, especially if you can make them one big balcony! We have a mixture of inside/outside and balcony cabins.

Thank you for your kind words.
We had such a fabulous wedding at GOH ....it really gives me alot of pleasure to think that other brides are going to get this kind of experience too.

If I had any further tips to give they would be;
First, don't scrimp on the photography because beatiful photographs will be with you the rest of your lives and can't be replaced/retaken.
Second, it was alot of the little details that we brought to the wedding ourselves (all beached themed accessories, the beach themed cake topper, the tune I chose to walk down the aisle to, the trash the dress shots etc.) that made for such a unique experience.....you have already chosen well for the back drop ...now paint in the details yourselves to make individual and personal to you and you partner.
Do make a list of any particular shots you would like your photographer to take - don't expect him / her to be a mind reader !!...there's a few with hindsight I wished I'd asked for (a picture of our shell ring box for example, more pictures of our floral displays, pictures of my shell hair band......) I never thought about a list before the wedding but now I wish I had, even though we have so many beautiful and unique pictures...there are a few gaps ! Look through other brides photos and list some ideas for good/unusual photos if necessary.

Very best wishes for all future GOH brides and feel free to email me if you think I can help; jdybnsn@aol.com (subject Grand Cayman Wedding or similar).

If anyone is looking for someone to take care of this in Grand Cayman let me know... I know it is hard to trust a private company...
Hi! My husband and I are planning on renewing our vows in May when we port (off Carnival Valor) at Grand Cayman.

We want to renew them on the beach and Carnival prices are ridiculous. Did you get married on the beach? What private company did you go through? Did you get a private photographer? The picture of you and your husband on the beach looks so beautiful.

My email is trav681@yahoo.com

Thanks so much,
Lisa

Does anyone know of a reputable company to go through to get married on the beach in Grand Cayman?

Thanks so much!

You can get married on the beach with going through Grand Old House.

They use the beach at Smith Cove which is where our "Trash The Dress" shots were done.
Its a small intimate beach about 2 mins from Grand Old House ...they do not however do weddings on the beach after 11am, mainly because it is too hot, but also I imagine because after this time it starts to get a few bathers arriving....and being a small beach, I'm sure this would not be satisfactory either to you, or the bathers !!

There are other general wedding planners on the island who mainly use the much busier Severn Mile Beach (much bigger and possibly your more traditional looking tropical island beach).
I'm sorry I don't know the names but a quick Google should find them !

We used Rebecca Davidson (Picturethisky), who was excellent. I have also heard that a guy called David Wolfe (sp ?) is good also.
