Default Getting Wedding Items to the port

How did you all get your flowers and other wedding supplies onto the ship. Did you turn over the items to the coordinators, or did you have to appoint someone that would make sure the favors and etc were delivered to the appropriate place? Also, did Carnival care if you had more than one carry on bag?

Thanks again-
Tiffany

I can answer about the carry on. Last year I sailed with Mom and grandma on carnival and all of us had more than one carry on. Infact, some folks choose to bring their suit cases on board themselves, as long as they will go through the scanner. You will be fine with more than one carry on.

All I brought for the ceremony was the CD of our music and our unity candles - I gave these to the coordinator and she took care of them. As far as carry-ons, we didn't have too much stuff. My sister and I put both of our dresses in the same garment bag, and we put the rest of our stuff in a duffle together. I don't think they would have cared if we had separated it though - I just didn't want to carry too much.

The W/C's are not responsible for carrying items onboard for the weddings except for what they are bringing like flowers. They will help when they can with carrying the bride's dress or a bag or something like that. They will assist in setting up the ceremony decorations and they will be responsible for setting up the favors. If you have specific instructions for how things are to be set up, please provide that information to your W/C or to a guest that can help. I suggest you assign family members or friends to carry these decoration and/or favor items onboard. Have them talk to the W/C and they can follow her/him to the ceremony or reception location to drop the items off. Remember, the decorations/favors need to be packed in boxes that fit in the X-ray scan machine. If you want these decorations back after the wedding, make sure you assign a non-sailing guest to collect them and take them off the ship or you will be carrying it off yourself when the cruise is over.

Does anyone know how big the x-ray machines are? I have already bought clear plastic storage bins, do these have to fit through as well seeing as they are clear?

I'm not sure the exact measurements but if it is the width of a carry on bag you will be fine. Most likely, you will have to still place the storage bins to be scanned. I understand that they are clear, but anything being carried on has to go through the X-ray machine for security purposes. You might get a "relaxed" TSA who let it slide but it's better to be safe than sorry on both ends! Good luck!

Well it looks like I may have wasted a few more bucks. I figured to good size bins were better than 4 or so smaller bins...

We transported everything to the terminal in the limo. When we got to the port, we got a porter and we put all our bags onto the cart and they took it in.

The WC's took our favors, the CD's, the sand, cake topper etc. I put these items in a suit case and duffel bags and this was not a problem..

As far as everything else, it was not a concern, there were plenty of people to help carry everything else!

I'm making everyone be my pack rat =) Since we're not getting married in port I'm going to put mostly everything in duffle type bags that can be folded up for the trip home. The flowers will obviously be in a box. Other then that, my mother is taking care of my dress. My MOH and FI's suit will go in the same garmet bag. The stuff for my OOT bags will be the hardest, I'm just going to bribe the room attendant to let us drop the stuff in the closet if our cabin isn't ready when we get on board.
