I was on the Sensation last year, and there was a nice looking older man with some kind of "tramp" on his arm, well she got drunk and was on the floor a few times, but I think he arranged for her transportation prior to embarkment. Problem with that, is once something goes wrong, your stuck with a roomie and what are you going to do with them. (It is illegal to throw them over) It's a whole lot easier to forget the libido for a week and have fun with a friend.??

But it made me both smile and tear up when I posted it.
And now that I think about it, I see nothing wrong in having those Gentleman Dance Hosts on the cruise lines.
As long as they return to their own cabins. Alone.

My husband and I took an elderly lady friend with us on a cruise to Hawaii years ago. Those Mature Perfect Gentleman dance hosts made that cruise something really special for her. She had not danced in years since her husband had died and she had a wonderful time every night dancing again. They made her feel like the "bell of the ball".
awwwww, that's so sweet! Thank you for contributing that.

Sigh.

I am female so am allowed to say: women can be catty.

luckily I landed in a male-dominated industry as I don't think I would do well with the strange competition that females have.

True professional escorts don't look like street walkers, they are very refined - that's why they cost a lot of money. And no - I'm not one~!

On the other hand, capitalism flourishes in many restrictive venues. Cruise ships laws are not US laws; they are the laws of the country in which the ship is registered. Several of these countries are more liberal than the US.

LOL. I'm not looking for a career in retirement; at least not one as physically demanding as an 'escort'.

I know a Realtor here in Tucson who moonlights as a dance host for a cruise line (not sure which one). He's certainly not over 60 (my guess is late 40's) and has apparently been dancing for years. He loves it because they pay all his costs and all he has to do it dance with the ladies!

Many years ago, in the late 1970's, a friend of mind landed a gig on a cruise line as an entertainer. Each week he was handed a list of single women on the cruise and he was expected to make contact, ask them to dance, etc., in general make sure they were having a good time, when he wasn't performing.

Or he could get a separate room (and a walkie talkie ) for his escort.

Please keep it very discreet if you bring an escort, it's not Las Vegas.

I think the traditional method is to hire one for the entire cruise before you depart.

OK, I've never been to Vegas but from what I see in the movies, it seems like a very common practice around the casino area.

I don't want to offend anyone, sorry if I did.

The sex trade is also illegal in Las Vegas, and all portions of Clark County NV. This includes the section known as 'the strip' (which technically isn't Las Vegas)

I think it is nice to hear the stories of ladies being escorted by gentlemen to dance with them. Especially older widows. I think it is a great thing for the cruise lines to do for their female customers.

By no means did you offend me. You were, and are 100% correct.
Steve Wynn had two arrested not long ago for propositioning him on his own property. Even though he had already thrown them off of it before.
They just don't get the word NO! And, you are under arrest.

You get my Blue Ribbon award:

The Blue Ribbon award Goes to kicker
For the best one of the day and night on here.

PS, I miss the Auburn area a lot. We lived in Waterloo, NY from 05-07 until returning to Nevada again. That was my nearest mall and big stores.
