Default First time cruisers booked on Millennium

I've lurked on these boards for a few weeks, ever since my husband announced that he wanted to take me on an Alaskan cruise for our 25th anniversary. We just booked cabin 7020 (anything to be concerned about with this cabin? On the deck plans, the balconies look deeper than others so I'm wondering why) on the Sept 3 sailing of the Millennium.

We let our actual anniversary date dictate the time of sailing, but I thought I'd read more positive than negatives about Celebrity Cruises, so these boards contributed somewhat to our choice of cruise line.

Just wanted to say Hi, and let you know that these first-time cruisers are lurking and learning.

Default Our first time also

Butler,

My DW and I will also be cruising the Millie in '10 for the first time. We are doing an Alaskan cruise.

Hop over to the roll calls to see if one has started for your sailing.

I have no other gems of wisdom to impart, except enjoy!

I am sure you will love your experience with Celebrity.
Make sure you check in with your sailing on the X connections. We had the best group we sailed with in April and we are still posting

The balconies are not any wider. The hallway inside follows the same path as the outside superstructure. You are adjacent to the front elevators, which is very handy. There is a group of cabins called the sweet 16, which have larger balconies, but I believe they are on deck 6. And as hard to get as any Milliennium aft balcony.

Here's a picture of the "Sweet 16" balconies. They are the first 8 balcony staterooms on the port/starboard side on Deck 6. The balconies are double the size of the normal balconies as you can see in this picture between staterooms 6032 and 6030. The staterooms themselves are only 170 sq ft as opposed to some of the larger staterooms (190 sq ft) in Concierge Class.

Hi,

First of all, hearty congratulations on your upcoming 25th!!

We just returned from a 10-night Alaska sailing on Millennium, and had a blast! Obviously, we think you'll love both the ship and the destinations.

To whet your appetite and increase the excitement (ain't I a devil...?), here's a link to our photos:

http://community.webshots.com/user/Calvin1956

That will take you to the main page for my albums on that site. All the recent Alaska sailing albums are clearly marked with a red "seal" noting them as "new". Scads of photos of both the ship and the scenery.

Have a GREAT cruise!

Thanks for the photo of the Sweet 16 balconies. That's a great photo and sort of gets me excited. In the Celebrity 2010 brochure, it looks like Vista Deck 7 has these deeper balconies. I chose 7020 for that reason, but if I'm wrong, it's no big deal.

I'm looking at your photos now, CelebrityMan!

Some of the balconies on Deck 7 Vista are larger than the standard balcony. Not sure if 7020 is one of them. 7080 has a huge balcony and then farther back 7176,7178,7180 have large balconies as well as the corresponding rooms on the port side.
