Default COMPARE: Isla Pasion; Mr. Sanchos; Paradise Beach; suggestions??

Hi: My husband, daughter (11YO) and I will be visiting Cozumel the end of June, 2010. We are looking for a beach day with the following: 1) good facilities (lounge chairs; umbrellas etc) with good sand and clear water2) beach activities for my daughter (water toys would be nice). We have never snorkeled and would try it (either from the beach or from a ladder off a pier). Not knowing whether we'd like it, I'd hate to spend time (and alot of $$$) on a snokel boat excursion. 3) decent food and drink nearby (either all inclusive or ala carte)4) doesn't have to be deserted but don't want to be wading in "people soup" either. I'd love to hear experiences from you seasoned visitors of how well each place meets our "wants" list. If you've been to more than one, which did you like better? I beleive we'd have to do the Twister excursion to get to Isla Pasion. The rest can be accessed by taxi/bus, correct???Sorry for all the questions. . . (we are first time cuisers). Thank you for all of your insight. These boards are great!!Lynn

You might also want to consider Nachi Cocum; I've not yet gone there, but I've heard it's fantastic. Also, Chankanaab which was lots of fun, had great facilities, a beach, AND DOLPHINS! We really liked it, but you can spend a MINT if you get the dolphin video and all the pictures...

Of the 3 you asked about, I've only gone to Paradise Beach. It did have nice facilities (like lockers and showers), food and drinks available, a shop with cute stuff, lots of lounge chairs, pretty water, and big water toys (a climbing "iceberg" and water trampolines).

Many on CC LOVE it (and Tom). We had an okay time, but nothing so amazing that we'd HAVE to go back (sorry, T!) Still, I think for your group it'd be something to consider. I also think (but am not sure) that there is snorkeling to be had there... maybe someone else could chime in if they know.

Good luck deciding - I'm sure you'll have fun wherever you go!

Thank you, swampfox.

I did consider Nachi Cocum. I think it would be great for hubby and I but it may be a bit laid back for my daughter. I'll check out Chankanaab. Thanks for the suggestion.

It's a hard question with an 11 year old. I've been to all three. I LOVE Pasion Island, but don't know if it would be too mellow for you. Mr. Sanchos might be too much. Paradise is busy but has kids stuff. I would do Chankanaab, it is a great family place with alot to do. On my next trip, I will try Nachi.
