Default Help! What do I do - never been on cruise before!

This is my first cruise and we are going next week on the Carnival Triumph on a 4-day trip to Cozemel and back. I know how to dress for a casual trip to the beach in Florida - but what do I take for a cruise? What about the day we spend in Cozemel -- I am not a snorkeler or water person - I guess I am a sun worshiper - I love the beauty of a beach and other scenery - also love to shop -- anyone have any suggestions on how to make the most of this 4-day cruise? I'm getting so excited and nervous too!

As for what to do in Cozumel, I'd probably book a day at one of the beach clubs (check out Paradise Beach, Mr Sanchos and Nachi Cocom's reviews on this site for starters). You can even book All-Inclusive at many of these beaches so you don't have to worry about what you're spending on food/drinks. If you like to shop, plan to stop in town or at the pier on the way to or from the beach- there's lots of shopping in both places.

As far as packing, you'll need basically what you need for a casual beach vacation. Dinners are getting more casual, but many people like to clean up a bit for dinner- personally I like to wear a sundress on casual nights and a cocktail dress on formal (I think Carnival calls it "elegant") night. For the days, basically as long as your swimsuit is covered up when you aren't at the pool, you're fine.

Oh, and bring more than one swimsuit if you plan on taking advantage of the pool/hot tubs. It takes a while for a suit to dry in the humid caribbean, and nothing's worse than wiggling into a damp suit.
