No real surprise there. You could probably get the same results testing restrooms in most businesses, hospitals, restaurants...and all it takes is one person to contaminate a sanitary environment.

Personal opinion is that people just need to exercise more vigilance on personal hygiene.
Time and time again, when going to the toilets onboard, you see people go to the toilet and not wash their hands. As far as I'm aware, you wash your hands under warm water with soap for approx 15-20 seconds before rinsing. Then dry with preferably the air dryers, or a single towel if not. How far do you go though to reduce the risk of Norovirus? 1, Automatic doors so you don't touch the handles? 2, Taps constantly running to reduce bacteria buildup in taps 3, Anti-bacterial coating on hand rails for stairs. 4, Don't touch food you aren't going to eat yourself 5, Ensure phones are constantly wiped clean. To be honest, having just been on Majesty Of the Seas which is a fast turnaround ship, found the cleanliness to be pretty spot on. For an old ship, the crew do a good job on her! ScrozUK |
