We are planning a cruise on the victory in February and are going to stay in san juan a day before and after the cruise. Does anyone know of any hotels in san juan that are close to the carnival dock and that maybe provide transportation to the dock? Also how far is the carnival dock from the airport?

none of them provide transportation...
you can stay at the sheraton old san juan and WALK!!! ![]() it's about, eh, 15-20 minutes from the airport....the taxi rate will be told to you ahead, including the charge for bags (it;s about a buck each)...figure around $20 give or take....

I highly recommend you visit the San Juan board under the Caribbean Port of Call section.
There are many, many threads there about hotels, what to do before you sail, restaurants, etc. Thanks to that board, I tried Priceline for the first time before I sailed Victory in May. I wanted the Sheraton but messed up my bid and got the Courtyard Miramar, which was a nice hotel with a great little local restaurant just up the street where we had dinner that evening and breakfast the morning of the cruise. Post-cruise (we stayed two extra nights because that itinerary is exhausting, plus I love San Juan), I bid and got the Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, which is what I wanted, located in the Condado area (lots of shops and restaurants, on the beach). Great hotel, especially at the price. Anyway, do some reading over there. This question comes up ALL the time, as you might imagine, so have a look through several pages, or do a search within that board before starting yet another hotel thread. There are some locals who post and others who travel to San Juan frequently, all of whom are very helpful. It was great cruise. If you click on my name, you can find threads I started, which includes my Victory review. There is also an "All Things Victory" thread on the Carnival board with lots of info about the ship. |
