Depending on when your ship docks, 11:40AM is easy to do. Four weeks ago we had a 10:40AM Delta flight. I know of people who had 9:40AM flights. Our ship docked very early and we were off at 6:15AM. I used a private driver, RomeCabs and they got us to the airport by 7:30AM.

Most of the Celebrity cruises end in Rome very early. As long as yours docks before 6:00 am you will have not problems with an 11:40 airline departure
