Default Soda Card Question

Hi everyone,

My wife and I will be travelling on the Liberty this December. Does anyone know how much the soda card is for a week cruise? Also, what type of sodas are offered?

Thanks in advance.

Adults are $6 per day, so $6 X 7 for a week. Coke products, coke, diet coke, mr. Pibb, etc. and bar juices.

plus 15% gratuity added plus tax if you buy the card before the ship leaves the port of embarkation.

You can also get Gingerale with it.

I recently saw that Iced Tea is now 1.50. Is this covered with the drink card?

Iced tea is free in the dining room and buffet along with lemonade.

I was on the Ecstasy 5 day cruise leaving Galveston on Oct. 26th. I didn't think about waiting until we left port to avoid paying taxes. My soda card was $36.95. You do not even get a full can per serving. The can sodas in your stateroom are $1.95 each. You could drink 18 of those and get more for your money. I won't buy a soda card next cruise.

Yup, I also recommend skipping the soda card unless you drink a lot. And even if you do, is there anyway you can pick up a 12 pack or even case and carry on board? We will do that next time. Even when wife and I shared a single card (being discrete, but don't think it was a real issue) I don't we came close to getting money's worth.

Default Soda card update!

Hello again,

What type of diet soda/pop is included besides Diet Coke using the Soda card? Does the soda card come with a collectable container like you see with Royal Caribbean?

Thanks,
Jason.

We bought a soda card our first few cruises and found it more annoying than anything else. You only get a glass at a time and sometimes it is difficult to find a bar open to get a soda, especially if you are in a forward cabin and it is not the evening hours. My big issue was getting diet soda since all the ships free drinks (fruit punch, lemonade, ice tea) were sweetened. Solved the problem by bringing a travel water bottle and those crystal Light type singles. Ice water is always available and we would get water and make our own sugar free drinks with the crystal light singles. Worked great for shore excursions. I do agree, if you want a soda, get one. A soda card had us running around the ship several times to find a bar somewhere open to get our free soda. If you really counted how many sodas we actually drank with the card, (even sharing it) we still paid much more than we would have it we just bought a soda.
We do buy the alcoholic drink coupons pre-cruise from Carnival and they work very well.

with the cruiselines looking to maximize revenues it seems odd that bars would not be open unless it was late night.

Also fruit punch is no longer available at thr Lido deck.

On our last cruise we had a girl that thought she could not live without her Coke, so we carried on our own, we ended up leaving at least a 12 pack, she never found time to drink it because she was so busy. LOL
Anyway you can bring your own on.

The only diet I believe is Diet Coke. Others include Coke, sprite and Mr. Pibb. I don't recall anything else.

BTW if you like something sweet, the free lemonade is very good. And they either added or moved around a free punch during the week. Also concerned about sugar we took on Crystal Light and that was a great idea! The water on board is good.

No, you do not get a collectible container. And I wouldn't bother buying the one available for $5.00. It holds very little. We bought some 20-22 ounce South Beach Mugs for $5.00 each before boarding and they worked wonderfully!

Can you bring your own cups onboard for them to fill up with lemonade or soda? Like the travel style mugs? That would be a great way to do it? We are thinking of getting one soda card for my husband and I...the kids can drink the lemonade or something else for free at kids club. THis is our first cruise and I'm trying to soak up all the info I can before we sail on the 12/6.

Great tips on the drink card issue - we'll be picking up the drink crystals. Are we able to store drinks in the in-room mini-fridge? Also, what are the drink coupons and how do they work? do we have to get the pre-cruise or can we get them under way? thanks.
