Default football games on TV?

My husband is a football fan, loves watching the games, are they on the TV in the room on Sunday or Monday, is there any other place on the ship to watch a football game? We are going on the Equinox in two weeks...thanks for any information you can give me.

Unhappy Not Much

My dh is similarly afflicted so I can speak on this topic with some empathy.

At least on the Infinity, the only regular sports is on ESPN Intl. Soccer rules. But the Sun and Mon night NFL games are televised. There's nothing resembling a sports bar on board. The best you can do is hope for football scores on the crawl on the bottom of the screen on CNN Intl. The daily news summary is always a day behind; Sun NFL scores are reported on Tues.

If your dh is anything like mine, that's not enough. Your best bet is to book exciting excursions that will distract him. <g>

They will attempt to show things like super bowl, final four, etc on normal TV but don't hold your breath.

Your best bet (and I know this sound a little crazy) is to sign up where you can watch the games online. I think ESPN has something like this.

Then, on board, ask the friendly staff at the internet cafe to hook up a large screen for the game.

I was sort of amazed that they had the SEC championship (and I'm a Big Ten person) streaming on a big video screen with sound. Don't know how much it cost but I'm guessing Celebrity did alright - they had a full time bartender there.

While I was just trying to read my email - jeeze . Well at least the bartender was helpful ,

Sometimes - just sometimes, in the bar at the casino they actually do have regular season games on but don't hold your breath.

Keep in mind that they have the capability to pull down all the sat channels but sometimes they can't even get CNN. Numerous reasons. And the internet streaming is also subject to the same demons when trying to catch a satallite with an earthbound receiver (or seabound in this case which is a little more complicated).

Good luck. And that's serious, you can probably get something worked out.

Normal season games, won't be on tv unless they are part of the espn programing they carry. Big time playoffs or bowls sometimes are.

We had the entertainment director find out scores for us via his internet. But we never have seen the games we were interested in.

Well this doesn't sound too promising. I am a big Saints fan & will be on the Solstice 1/17. (playoff time) As everyone knows they don't make it to the playoffs very often. This could be quite historic for me. I would sure hate to miss the game. My DH is still mad at me about missing the Detroit Red Wings win the SC 2 yrs ago in June. I was on & off the internet all week getting scores & player updates.

The normal NFL Sunday games? They are not normally shown. But
as for playoffs? And Superbowl? Yes.

I have sailed in January many times and have seen many playoff games.
Going back 5 or 6 years including this past January.
The NFC and AFC Championship games were both televised on my
particular sailing. They set up a big screen....(almost movie size)
and served food too. I spoke with some of the staff and they said
the SuperBowl is set up even larger.......they know lots of folks
will be wanting to watch it.
But for a regular Sunday afternoon game? Not likely. Rooting for
the Saints too
