Default Have ? Panama Cruise in Jan. on Maasdam

Trying to decide which 14 day Panama Cruise to go on the Maasdam. Have not been to any of the ports. My question is whether to go from Ft. Laudedale to San Diego or San Diego to Ft. Laudedale. I live in NC. Which way is the best?

Day 1: Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
Day 2: At Sea
Day 3: At Sea
Day 4: Oranjestad, Aruba
Day 5: At Sea
Day 6: Enter Panama Canal At Cristobal
Day 6: Exit Panama Canal At Balboa
Day 7: At Sea
Day 8: Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica
Day 9: At Sea
Day 10: Huatulco, Mexico
Day 11: Acapulco, Mexico
Day 12: At Sea
Day 13: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Day 14: At Sea
Day 15: San Diego, California

OR

Ports of Call:
Day 1: San Diego, California
Day 2: At Sea
Day 3: At Sea
Day 4: Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Day 5: At Sea
Day 6: Huatulco, Mexico
Day 7: Puerto Chiapas (Tapachula), Mexico
Day 8: Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala
Day 9: At Sea
Day 10: Fuerte Amador, Panama
Day 11: Fuerte Amador, Panama
Day 11: Enter Panama Canal At Balboa

I personally would go with the shorter flight at the end of my cruise. Just because a long flight after your off the cruise can be even more tiresome. The itineraries on both have the good points.

Flip a coin. Either is great.

Im SO on the same page with you on that one. I love to cruise the Panama Canal and have done it many times. I love ending in San Diego because it means a 3 hour flight home rather then spending about 15 hours to get home because of lousy connections. I don't mind flying into Fort Lauderdale but it a zoo getting out of there at times.
