Default Tell me about Sofitel Miami

I am thinking about booking Sofitel Miami for a pre cruise stay. I'd like to know a little more about the hotel. If you have ever stayed there, could you tell me:
- about the hotel restaurant breakfast - is it affordable and good?
- are there restaurants, grocery stores and/or a pharmacy in walking distance?
- is the pool tiny?
Thanks for any specifics.

I stayed there 2 years back and will try to help you the best I can.

We never ate there but did asked for water and the guy said it was like 6.00 so offered us tap for free, so I imagine dining would be expensive??

We didnt have time to use the pool, cant help you there.

There are shops you can walk to but it was quite a walk.

We got the hotel at a good price so it was worth it and I dont really have anything negative to say about it, our room wsa clean and I did use the computer they have in lobby to surf web a bitbut our taxi fare was crazy from the airport. I believe we used a the free shuttle with no problems.

We used a shuttle to go to dolphin mall ( i believe that was the name). The shuttle was really cheap and will take you many places. The shuttle runs from all neighboring hotels so rides places do take a bit longer.

As said it was a decent hotel no complaints, I would book it again. Hopefully I helped if you have any other questions I can try my best to help

The Sofitel is literally across the street from the airport. One side of the hotel is noisier than the other. Be sure to ask for the quiet side if that is important to you. We ate breakfast, it was a very lovely buffet, and I usually hate buffets. I remember it as being around $20/person, but I don't trust my memory a whole lot! The pool was nice.

We stayed there in 2008 and had a wonderful stay. They have a shuttle that can pick you up from the airport and take you to the hotel. We also used that shuttle to take us to dinner at night. After our dinner we called the hotel and they sent a car to pick us up. We also had wonderful service form the bar in the hotel and met some great employees there. They do have a pool that has a waterfall but it is a little small. We were there in the winter and the pool is not heated. We tried to get it, but it was just to cold. We didn't eat breakfast there, instead we walked to Burger King the morning of embarkation. We also walked to a nearby drug store for some last minutes items. There are some liquor stores nearby that the shuttle driver could take you to. It is close to the airport and we did hear some of the planes flying in and out but it didn't bother us. The bed was wonderful and I had a great nights sleep. They have a shuttle you can catch to the port, you just need to sign up for a time slot at the front desk.
