Default Getting around Pearl Harbor

My husband and I will be in Honolulu next week, and he really wants to go to Pearl Harbor.
He has trouble walking long distances due to cancer treatments, but as of now doesn't use any type of mobility aid.

I've read that it's a must to get to the park early and wait in line for a timed ticket. We will have a rental car and a handicapped hangtag. Is there a place to drop my husband off so I can park, are there places in the park where he can sit for a break, etc.? Any tips you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

You shouldn't have any problems. You will be able to drop your husband off and then you can park the car. The parking lot is right next to the drop-off location. Once inside there are plenty of areas to sit.

We always arrive late in the afternoon when the crowds are gone (after 1:00 p.m.) and usually are able to get a ticket for the next show. I know this is not what most advise but you will be there the week before Thanksgiving so it is not "peak" season. I took guests five times last spring (including during spring breaks) and we really enjoyed the late afternoons at PH. I hope you both enjoy it. Cherie

You can drop him off right at the entrance of Pearl Harbor. I've gone there direct from getting off the ship and always was able to get tickets. In between waiting, the exhibits are excellent.

There are places to sit. We try to get there as early as possible, because the wait is shorter if you arrive before the tours. Just remember you can't bring a purse or anything much larger than a camera or wallet into the area. There are lockers for larger items. I wouldn't leave anything too valuable in the car, as there have been break-ins.
