Default My Cruises question: Display of payment

On the Countdown to Cruises/My Cruises tool on the RCL web site, something looks odd but am not sure if it's just poor wording or very slow processing, or something else.

I have a cruise booked with a TA, and the deposit has been paid for a few weeks (which shows to "ROYAL CARIBBEAN CRUISES" on the credit card statement). However, in the my Cruises section, it only refers to a reservation and doesn't have any mention of the payment that I can see. The oddest thing is that for all the optional items/enhancements it displays "In order to make a reservation for this Cruise Enhancement, you must make at least one payment towards your cruise vacation. "

I did notice another bug, which is that the reservation date is actually subsequent to when I made the reservation, but it's been like that from the beginning i.e. I was looking at the reservation from when it was paid and it showed a future "Reserved on" date! That of its own didn't feel me with confidence about the site accuracy.

The cruise is over a year off so not sure if that's the cause or related. Is this just a bug, or poor wording and it will come good when enhancements can be bought later? Is there somewhere that payments made normally can be seen?

Thanks...!

I've also booked a cruise through a TA and in 'my cruises' there are no payment details but the Vacation Summary page shows the details of my TA and advises that I need to contact them with any questions etc.

Have you received the invoice from RCI that will have been sent to your TA?

I received mine and it shows that the deposit has been received by RCI.

I am able to select the options for enhancements as RCI have received the deposit (so at least 1 payment against the vacation).

I'd check with your TA that although you have paid the deposit, it would appear that it has not reached RCI yet.

Mine does show the date I made the reservation via my TA.

Hope this helps.

I don't believe you can see the details unless you book direct with RC. Did you make this reservation with a "Future Cruise" certificate? If so then the date you purchased that would come up as the reserved on date.

Don't worry about it. it IS a glitch with RCI online. The same thing happened to me. Each time my reservation changed, it happened again. Give it a couple of weeks and it will clear up.

Cheers, thanks for the feedback all. I haven't received any invoice aside from the confirmation from the TA, and it wasn't booked with an FCC. Given that odd things happen occasionally though, I'll let it ride a while longer.

Thanks again!

This has happened to me, and was very annoying because I would get that message every time I tried to access excursions etc on the website. Can't even register for Meet & Mingle. It's because of the way the TA has processed the deposit and it being part of a group booking. Makes me a bit nervous, but I trust my TA who works with a large reputable agency.

As far as I know, it's not a group booking as the pricing package was comparable with other agents and it wasn't specifically promoted. Thanks for mentioning it though; I'll keep it in mind if it doesn't right itself.
