Default Is the Valor sailing through Ida?

Is it just me or does it look like the Valor is currently going straight through IDA? I know it was upgraded to a hurricane so I was kind of surprised to see Valor's current location. Does anyone know?

IF you look at this image: http://www.wunderground.com/tropical...t.html#a_topad
It shows that the Valor is within the rain bands...I wonder if they are having big swells, etc???

I highly doubt they would sail through a hurricane they probably changed courses and reversed the port stops.

If you look at the cam they are having semi-rough seas...they are in the rain bands of Ida. That must suck..

I'll be interested to hear from them when they get back...

That's surprising they normally won't go right through a hurricane. Glad I'm not on that sailing with crappy weather.

I agree although if you look they didn't have much of a choice. They could either sail right through Ida or go the other way around Cuba...Unfortunately Ida covered the whole area. Although if you look at their path they certainly skirted the coast of the Cuba to try to stay as far away from Ida as they could...

I agree about the sailing. I'm going on Valor in three weeks and I'm hoping for much better weather than that!

I was on the boat...and if we didn't go straight through it, it sure felt like it. Very high waves, boat jumping around and creaking like it was going to fall apart. It was like that for some of Friday, all of Saturday, and most of Saturday night. They shut down all the deck activities and even emptied the pools out! I think the hot tubs were still being used, but of course you couldn't get near them because they were so crowded.

Yeah same here I'm on the same sailing as you. I'm sure we'll have nice weather. We normally don't have hurricanes that late in the season. I'm keeping my fingers crossed cause all I want to do is relax in the sun.

We were on the Legend the same week and we had an identical situation. We even had lounge chairs blowing off the back of the ship at one point and they grabbed all the staff they could find to stack and tie them really quickly. There was a constant cleaning of the hallways where fellow passengers had made their seasickness known, and the ship seemed eeirily empty all day Saturday.
Unfortunately, the seas were exceptionally rough on Friday night heading out of Roatan, and the main female singer fell backstage and fractured her arm and had to cancel her Saturday show. It was definitely the adventure of a lifetime!

We were on the Valor last week. I didn't think it was that bad. Yea they closed the main pool, but far as I could tell (or that I saw) they just closed the roof over the pool on the adult area.

I enjoyed the cruise. My only issue with the weather is we arrived in GC late. And even tho they extended our departure, it was very rushed in GC. Also swimming with the stingrays was a bit of a challenge as was snorkeling. But again, wife and I did it all!

A few people were complaining about the weather, but really I didn't think it was terrible. Been on a lot worse!

I was also on this sailing, and boy was Saturday crazy! There were kids in the pool Saturday morning that were just getting tossed around like crazy, and they thought that Carnival had made it a wave pool - Security had to advise them, after closing the pool, that it was *not* supposed to do that! I was traveling with the winner of the Master Mixologist contest, he got some really good video of the waves right before they closed the upper decks in the afternoon. If I can get everything to work, I'll have to post them.
