Default Brochures?

I have requested brochure for 2010 cruises. I was told that they still have to print them. I have received many other brochures from competing cruise lines. Although, I am happy viewing online, my travel companion likes to look at hard copy brochures. We have received some really beautiful DVDs and gorgeous up to date brochures from the other lines. When we are ready to pick, we always put all potential cruise lines brochures on the table and pick and choose. Often we place cruise brochures side by side to help make the right choice for us. Without an Azamara brochure, they will be left out.

Is that really how you choose your cruises?
So whoever does the best PR job (best photographers, gorgeous models, fake sets, etc) wins? Nothing to do with itinerary, price, cruise line reputation and such?
We get way too many unsolicited brochures that wind up in recycling - think of how many trees we could save by just looking online (multiply everything by many millions).
JMO.

What about putting out an O brochure with a sticky saying Azamara? I have cruised O, have now booked an A cruise for next summer - they seem very similar to me at this point. Or you could print out the Azamara itineraries that interst you from their website so you would see those chices in front of you!

I too have been trying to get a brochure - RCCL sent me alot of their other products but I guess we have to wait for the Azamara ones.

Default would like hard brochure

When planning cruises, we put all cruise brochures from various companies on the table and pass them around. I got Oceania, Seabourn, Silversea, Windstar, many riverboat, and a few more brochures. No Azamara. My last cruise was on the Journey. I did like it. However, they seem a little fuzzy on helping us get a brochure.....and on the phone, they are extremely pushy...kind of like hungry car salesmen. It really turned me off when I made arequest by phone and was harassed by some agent who called many times. Even after I told them that I did not want them to phone me, the calls continued. I had the hassle of contacting a manager who called the agent off. It left me with a not so happy feeling. It was very different from my last experience last year booking on Azamara. What a change. I'M starting to think that Azamara will not get my business with their increase in prices. Most other options are decreasing.

My response is to a few of the comments mentioned above

**Res agents usually work on some sort of commission structure and its in their best financial interests to make a sale

also, many res centers...whether it is cruises, hotels, airlines and tour companies are monitored and told to go after the sale if a phone number is given.

the powers that be watch their stats..their performances are graded on how fast the call is, how many call they take in one day, how many calls are converted into reservations and how large in the booking is...
did they managed to upsell you to a pricier cabin??

these stats determine...rankings in the dept, promotions, free benefit awards, etc.

so when anyone calls and begins chit chatting about non related cruise and booking issues..you might be jeopardizing the job

just a little inside perspective

**now for AZ calling you...thats something that anyone in any sales department in any field does...they go after the sale with someone who at one time has expressed interest in the product.

I get personal emails from a res agent at Holland America and Viking River Cruises just letting me know specials..i have no intention of booking them, and i had no intention of booking RCCL Radiance one week ago, but then they called to say they had a special on top of a special for Diamond members and they knew it was close to my home port...
guess what....we booked and it was all because of a simple phone call out of the blue!!!

**Now finally about the brochures AZ has stated that the brochures should be out in December, it takes close to a year to produce, authorize and then print all of these brochures..

Now since Larry Pimental came onboard he's needed to look at the brochures that were in the pipeline and determine if he is CHANGING anything regarding policies, ports etc that he wants updated in the proccess... this takes time...

if patience isn't an option
your best bet is to get this years brochure to have the deck plan and see the pretty pictures...then go online and print out the itineraries that interest you...also online you can view shorex videos, and 360 videos of staterooms and public spaces.
