Default Irons on the Disney cruise

I heard that steam irons are not allowed in the state rooms and you need to wait in lines to iron on certain decks of the Disney cruise lines. Has any one ever put a travel iron in their checked bags and it went through ok at check in for the cruise? I'd appreciate any info you might know.
Thanks a million,
Huladancer

I have always used the irons on board and NEVER had to wait to use them.
I unpack as soon as luggage arrives and dash right down to the laundry and nobody is there. Early morning it is always easy to use the laundry too.
Never brought an iron however some people have brought those small hand held steamers that business people often take for their suits. Spray a bit of Downy wrinkle release and use the steamer and give a gentle tug and usually it will be wrinkle free.

Those small hand held steamers are easy to use, take up less room and arnt against the rules. Irons pose a potential fire hazard because they can tip over while still hot. Steamers arnt like that. Just turn off, empty out any leftover water and they are cold in 2 minutes.

Good luck

Wow, what a surprise. I'm hoping to get most my questions answered (first time cruiser) but I never in a million years would have asked about an iron. I would have just packed my little travel iron.
Glad I read this post. Thanks for the info!

At night, Topsiders has a menu and that is what you order from - not a buffet like usual. There is usually a salad bar and probably some desserts up there but the rest is just like a sit down restaurant.

We did Topsiders twice last week. My husband loves their Porterhouse steak. It is not open the first or last night of the cruise and is open from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. if you want to try it.
Menu is small but good. Much more relax and quiet than the dining rooms. If you have small kids this is really alot easier to eat at. Much faster than the dining rooms are.
