Default There was a Post about Photo Books from Digital Images...

Hope someone can help me with this.. A while back I read a post whereby people were discussing books they had created, by sending digital photos and they were turned into a book you would place on your cofee table or wherever.

I have searched every combo of words I can think of, but all my search results are coming back booking this cruise or booked that cruise or photos of cruise or cruise confidential book but I cannot find, the thread I am looking for.

Hoping you can help me. Would love to get some of these books created for Christmas gifts. thanks

There are many, just search photobook or photo book into your favorite search engine. Bear in mind, there's great differences between them all. It's a balance of ease of the website, quality of the photos and cost. Usually the top three in the quality dept is viovio, snapfish and shutterfly. Shutterfly has a 30% deal that ends today.

I just did one of these from my Hawaiian cruise. I used shutterfly. I was pretty happy with it and hubby was impressed. I had one page that the pictures weren't centered, but I am sure it was my fault. You just need to make sure it is right before you order. I was in a hurry and kind of rushed. I plan on doing more...just wanted to test it out first. You can get hard back or soft and different sizes. I'm going to do one with all the grandkids pics for my Mother for xmas.

If you are using a Mac the one built into iPhoto is good.

I've had extremely good results from "My Publisher". I've been using them since 2005 and every book has been perfect. If you want cheap...try "artscow".

It is very frustrating, but it doesn't sound like Carnival offers this type of product. If we were sailing on the Disney Cruie line we would be able to take advantage of Photo Pass just like in their theme parks. With photo pass you can use all of the professional photos as well as upload your own pictures into a wonderfully bound book. I have one of these for both of my Disney World vacations from 2007 and 2009.

I do not understand why Carnival does not offer this product. It is such a simple way of increasing revenue from the photo services that they have invested in providing.

In 2006, I travelled to Germany and made my own photo book at the Archiver's web site. That is a scrapbooking store that also offers a limited number of online products like photo books. Good luck.

It would be a great idea for the photobooks, I assume they looked into it. You have so many problems with the costs...Some people would just want to pay someone to put together the book for them and are ok with a "cookie-cutter" book while others will want a completely custom book. Some people will be ok with just the on ship photographers while others will want to add on photos they've taken themselves at excrusions/ports. Most people interested in a book would want to wait until the last possible moment as photos will still be taken on the last night. Most importantly, I thought I heard someone say they sell one backdropped photo for $40...I can get a decent 20 page book around that price on the high quality online sites. I'm unsure how much they'd charge, $200 seems like a fair price, yet I'm unsure how profitable it would be and add to that they may lose lots of $40 photo sales. I believe for those reasons they do not offer the fun ship "fun foto book"

I print my pictures at my local Wal-mart, and when you use the self-service kiosk, (Kodak brand) there is the option to make your own coffee-table album from digital photos.

I don't know what the quality is like, but the cost was around $30 from what I saw (didn't look into it in great detail).

I'm sure Walgreens and other stores like that would have them too. Very cost effective considering the lady that we had professional "formal Family Pictures" taken with wanted around $400 for a 25 page book!

It sounds like a great gift as a remembrance of a cruise...hmmmmm.

I have ordered several from kodakgallery.com and they always turn out great! They often run specials/discounts etc so the price is quite reasonable as well. As mentioned, there are many photo sites/store kiosks etc that will provide this service. Look for the one that provides the features you are looking for.

It's a one-of-a-kind gift!

Here's a link to a post about a photo book I made. We look at that thing almost every day.
