Single with children

Do single parents ever go on cruises? My friend is interested in taking a Disney Cruise with her two sons but feels she may feel awkward roaming around by herself while her kids are off at their clubs. What about dining possibly alone?

Lots of single parents and couples without kids cruise Disney.

They even have a special luncheon for single people over 18 to meet so they can make friends. Many have kids.

Dining, everyone will be assigned a table. If 3 of them are going there is a chance she will have a table for 4. So it might be just them but sometimes they will place a single cruiser at the table too or they maybe at a table for 6 or 8 with other cruisers.

Many join roll call threads for their cruises, there is one right on this site. They get aquainted with others on their cruise. Then she can link dinner reservations with another couple or family and will have a friend to eat with. Plus the kids can make friends with other kids their own age on the thread.

If she wants to eat alone when the kids are in the club she can use room service, or eat from fast foods around the pool area or all but the first and last night the buffet is open from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for a sit down limited menu.

Of course the kids can eat with her then zip off to the clubs too.

I have cruised with many single parents and all of them had a great time. They did meet others on the roll call threads so they had adults to meet around the pool or clubs in the evening while the kids are in the clubs.

She wont be the only one. I promise!!

Anyway I'll tell her to join this group so she can snoop around a bit and maybe feel more comfortable.
