Default Parking at Port Everglades

Could someone please tell me what the parking routine is at Port Everglades. We are going on Independence in December.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Port Everglades is one of the larger cargo / passenger ports. Upon entering the outside of the port, you will need to go through security. The officer will ask for the passport of each individual in your vehicle. After clearing security, you will go to your port. You can drop off passengers. After the passenger drop off, you will need to drop off bags. Even through the baggage is designed for head in parking, the porters will ask you to come in sideways for ease of exit. The porters will tag your bags (if not already) and ask for a tip. From there, you will head towards the main parking garage. The bad thing about Everglades is that the ship may not return to the same terminal number as you departed especially during the holiday season. One year, our terminal was across from the garage and we came back at a terminal far away which required a shuttle transfer to the garage. Another great option is Cruise (Park N Fly) http://www.pnf.com/ftlauderdale/porteverglades.htm. In some ways, if you have to take the shuttle anyway, at lease the Park N Fly drops you off next to your car, is cheaper, and they handle your luggage. The Park N Fly is conveniently located immediately outside the security checkpoint at Port Everglades.

PARK"N GO is another great option to parking at the terminal. You can reserve on line and the first day is free with minimum of 4 day parking. Here is their link http://offairportparking.com/ftlauderdale/ftlauderdalereservationfuture.htm
It is the same lot whether you cruise or fly, but the rates per day are different depending on which one you do. $12.00 per day to cruise with the first day free, and a AAA discount if you are a member. Free shuttle, and just a few minutes to the terminal doors.

According to the webiste at Port Everglades the parking is $15 per day. We are also going on the Independence in December. I don't know which terminal it departs from. There are two parking garages, Midport and Northport. There is also a fairly new surface parking lot.
