Default CABO or PV for whales

For those of you that have been to the Mexican Riviera.
In January which is a better port for whale watching Cabo or Puerto Vallara?
Thanks for helping us select the right port

Definitely Cabo - the whales are right off the coast in that area during that time of year. Also, many dolphins.

Are the whales and dolphins around Cabo in early January?

Yes, there are whales in January. Did WW in Cabo and there were plenty. Even though whales are typically in the region in January, when dealing with nature, there is always a case you may not see any.

I would agree that Cabo is where to see the whales.

You can even whale watch from the ship on your way to Puerto Vallarta while you go past Cabo. We saw probably 15-20 whales from the deck of the Sapphire Princess last February.
