Hello, I'm 50, have a very few cruising days under my belt spread over 30
years...yikes. My dad had perhaps a not perfect but life long desired trip to Austrailia as a chaperone for a high school group with a delightful
niece of mine..(which did make it partially perfect)...last July, 2009. From
what I read, casual is usually ok, and easy dress-up clothes if you want to
dress up. This however depends on the cruiseline, ship, itenerary, and
length of cruise in that order. Dress code guidelines used to be in back of brochures and maybe somewhere on your computer site way at the bottom for cruiseline. Usually best to have a variety of nice slacks and tops, something that will cover you in religious places touring, something to dress up in formally, something for your shoulders to cover you if ship is cold, nice shorts, capri's, and tops often cover many situations. I think
you will find dark suit over tux is ok for big dressing up..but not sure. I'll
bet you have a fascinating trip. Also, I'm finally and extrmely slowly learning less is more even with the dressy parts which I sometimes like.
Try google search for travel packing maybe for fine tuning. Happy Travels.

sjn911 Oh..2 swimsuits each if wet one is too much and you like to partake in spa and pool often.

Use the search function "Allegra", there have been some reviews and lots of messages about the Allegra cruises in the Far East, several from Aussies.

With regards to what clothes to take, that is difficult as you have not stated your route / ports of call, i.e.if you are travel Korea, Japan Northern China then warm clothing, if Singapore / Vietnam then light airy clothing.

You will find that you you ask specific questions rather than very general questions you will receive more answers. CC members are very helpful -but you must furst help them.

Ron

there were 225 aussies on my allegra cruise in august. the largest 'group'. IMHO, aussies are a fun bunch to cruise with and they kinda speak english.
