Default can we leave the ship early?

I just booked a cruise on the Pride of America (despite all the so, so reviews) because we will be attending a wedding in Hawaii and wanted to extend the visit to include a cruise. The cruise comes first then the wedding which will take place on Kauai. The cruise is Saturday to Saturday, beginning and ending in Honolulu. However, we would like to leave the cruise on the last evening when we are docked in Kauai instead of returning to Honolulu and then flying back to Kauai. The ticket agent with Norweigan tells me this is not possible. Has anyone else ever left a cruise early (voluntarily that is)?

Yes you can but contact NCL Special Services to make arrangements-the people who answer the phones are reading from a script and are wrong. this is an American flagged ship so there is no PSVA(Jones Act) issue.

I am guessing the most common answer you will get is that you can not. the main reason is that there are usually;

1 - Customs issues
2 - Immigration issues
3 - Jones act issues - not allowing transport by non US Flagged vessels between U.S. Ports

Since none of this impact you, it should not be a problem. And, even if somebody said it was, there are some creative ways to GET OFF the ship at anytime, rules or not.

Don't even bother calling NCL because the POA is different then the rest. You don't need to pre-arrange anything. When you get on the ship you just need to fill out a very quick early disembarkation paper. You need to be off the ship by 1pm on Friday with your account closed (this is done at the reception desk). Its very easy and a dozen or so passengers do it every week.

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling it had to be possible. I won't bother pursuing it with the shoreside people, I'll just make the arrangements when I get aboard.
