Default Long Beach Residence Inn

Has anyone stayed at the Residence Inn, Long Beach, CA on East Willow St? Would appreciate any comments. Leaving on the Mariner 2/14/10. Need to be close to drop off for car rental.

Maybe I don't understand what you're trying to do here, but I'll try to give you my take:

This hotel is not in an area you really want to be for most purposes...it's on the wrong side of Long Beach...You're off the 405, across from Long Beach Airport...You're 20 miles from the pier in San Pedro by freeway...You can cut that down to 12-14 miles if you go all surface streets--but that means a load of traffic, traffic signals and such...

Is is that you MUST turn in a rental car at Long Beach Airport? Can't you return it in DOWNTOWN Long Beach...or. better yet, San Pedro? There are several hotels in Downton Long Beach that at least put you near restaurants, shops and attractions...and only a 6-8 mile taxi ride to the ship...

When do you plan on turning in the car? At night before going to bed at the hotel? The morning before heading for the ship (If so, why?)?

Are you spending several days in the LA area and just looking to arrive somewhere in the harbor area the night before? Or are you just here for one day overnight?
When are you getting in? Which airport? Why are you renting a car? If you are just coming in the night before, forget the car...get a shuttle or taxi to a San Pedro hotel and call it a night...
