Default Night for Palo/Character Breakfast

I've made reservations for Palo and for Flounder's Reef for my son on Thursday night of our Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Magic. However, it appears that Thursday may be the Captain's Gala and I really don't want to miss that menu as it's when lobster is served, which is one of my wife's favorites. While I do realize that she can order it at Palo, I'm sure she'd appreciate it more than once.

Would Saturday be a better night? I don't want to miss out on any of the great activities in the dining rooms or the rotations. Is it weird not to meet your table mates on the first night?

As for the character breakfast, obviously we don't know when ours will be. However, I've booked an 11 a.m. spa appointment for my DW and me. If we happen to have the character breakfast on the first sea day, will we have enough time to do the breakfast with my son before the spa appointment.

Thanks for your advice!

Character breakfast is always on sea days but you will be done before 11:30. Lunch starts 11;30 to 12:00 depending on wher eyou go.
Breakfast starts at 8 or 8:30 for character breakfasts. Usually they have 2 each sea day morning. But even the late one is done long before your Spa appt. So dont worry.

Many people miss dinner the first night just because they get busy unpacking and exploring the ship or have jet lag. But it is weird not to meet your tablemates and servers.
The show in Animators Palate only occurs on your first rotation. Not knowing your rotation,if you really dont want to miss something I would choose Palos on day 5,6 . Last night is fun in the dining room as all the servers will parade through and you can thank them and give them your tips.
Another night they parade through with with flaming baked alaska.
So don't miss the first rotaton if possible.

We are currently schedule for Thursday night, so that fits into your advice.

Good to know about the breakfast timing.

Thanks.
