Usually there will be plenty of parties around the ship. Some may include free bubbly and a balloon drop. Both times we had a great time....RCCL does make it a very fun evening.

Main Dining Room had party favors out as place settings both evenings. Our DD got quite a kick out of collecting the various party favors.

Enjoy your NYE Cruise!

My family and I were on Monarch for New Years two years ago. Balloon drop, party hats and noise makers at the tables in the MDR, festive atmosphere all over the ship!

We had a great time. They made NYE a formal night even though it was our first night on the ship.

Of course this IS the most expensive cruise of the year as it is in high demand but I would definitely do it again!

We took our 3 sons and their significant others on a cruise over NewYears on Brilliance in 2003. New Year's eve was a formal night, there was a special menu at each place setting in the MDR, parties with champagne in every bar, and a balloon drop in the Centrum at midnight. I believe we had party hats and noisemakers too. Lots of noise and fun!
