The charges for using the internet are the same, whether you use their computers or your own.

Basic rate - fifty five cents per minute

Packages of minutes can bring the cost per minute down:

$28 for 60 minutes
$38 for 90 minutes
$55 for 150 minutes.

Thanks. How do you get on the wifi? Do they give you a pin number to type in to get access? Do you sign up over the tv or have to go down to guest relations?

You sit at one of their desktop, select set up wifi account, and scan your room key. You pick your username and password.

When you boot your laptop, you go through the "connect to network" and rcclnet (or whatever) comes up with a sign in. It then gives you a choice of selecting a plan or using minutes. You confirm and you are connected.

Not too bad.

So the first time I have to go to one of their desks in the internet lounge? Or can I sign up from the desk in my cabin? Thanks.

You use the internet cafe - go to one of the many computers there, sit down, act as though you want to use THEIR internet/computer, and you will be given a choice of continuing to sign in there, or to get access to the wireless wifi. Just follow the directions on the screen. (there are also pamphlets there that tell you the same thing)

The first time you must use one of their computers to set up the account. After that you can log in with your laptop from any wifi zone.

The Freedom class ships and Oasis are the only ones with wifi access in staterooms. Every other one has designated (public) areas.

Which ship are you on?

You can't mix plan minutes. If you choose one of the plans for wifi, it must all be wifi. If you choose one of the plans using their computers, it must be all theirs.

If you pick up the leaflet they give out at Guest Services it will tell you where the hotspots are. Depending on the class of ship you're travelling on you may or may not be able to access the WiFi from your cabin.

Take it (safely) on shore and find a 'hot-spot', for free.

We'll be on Oasis, so wifi in the room. From what I've been reading, there is no internet lounge, or at least not yet.

unless things have changed, that is incorrect...i have been able to buy a package, sign in and use either their PCs or my laptop in a WiFi hotspot....but I've only been on Voyager, Vision and Radiance Class ships..

They haven't completed the official internet café yet, but have set up computers in a couple of empty cabins as a temporary location.
