Default room service/Eurodam

I have read that when you order room service you can order from the MDR menu. Am I understanding this correctly?

If this is true, how do you know what is on the MDR menu at that time? Do you walk down to the MDR and view the menu and then go back to your room and order room service or is there a way to get a menu to your room? We are in a balcony room, not a suite.

Thanks!

For breakfast, each day they leave an order menu in the room to be filled out by 1 or 2 AM. The regular menu is in the room.

I guess it's is same for a room, never been in one for we always get a suite.

By mid afternoon, most of the lounges have a copy of the dinner menu. Ask one of the bartenders to show it to you. Also, the dinner menu is posted outside the dining room long before the dining room doors open so you could see it during the afternoon.
I have read here where some people have been able to get one delivered to them. Nothing to lose by asking though I wouldn' count on it.

I admit we often look at the one that is delivered to our cabin just after we've had room service breakfast.

To get a MDR dining menu just ask your room steward or room sevice for one. They will get one to you right away. My DH and I don't eat in the main dining room on cruises, we order in from the menu and dine on our veranda every night. If you know (like us) that you want to eat in everynight then just arrange it with your room steward to have a menu each evening.

The dinner menu is posted outside the both levels of the dining room around noon time each day.

For dinner you need to order within an 1/2 - an hour of when the dining room opens -- this now varies by ship. You can choose any time you want for dinner to be delivered.

We have stayed in a balcony cabin, never a suite, and we have never gotten a dinner menu in our cabin. Just go down to the entrance of DR and read the menu. You can place your order within the first 1/2 hour that the DR is open. I don't remember what are the hours of delivery. Happy cruising!

Delivery can be requested during the whole time the dining room is open and serving dinner each evening.

For those who know you will not go to the dining room for dinner during your cruise, do you ask for/receive a dining assignment.... just in case you change your mind? Or would you simply go for open seating if you decided to try the dining room?

You have to ask for the menu - your room steward will get one for you.
Each afternoon we ask our room steard for one as we order all of our meals to our room from the MDR. No need to walk down to the MDR and memorize what you want.

We had a Verandah on the Eurodam and had dinner on the deck two nights on our 14day cruise. We did not get a menu in the room, but went by the bar and they had one there. We picked what we wanted and called during the dinner hour. Food arrived quick, hot and cooked to perfection! Very nice indeed!
