Default Making cellphone calls while on board..

Next weekend we will be taking our first Mexican weekend cruise ( LA - Ensenada - LA). We have ATT and Sprint as our carrier ..would the cellphone work while on board on sea and in Mexico ?

I would first call ATT/sprint and see if international roaming is turned on and also inquire about the minutely rates. I have verizon and last month they needed to activate international roaming (free) and told me it was $2.49 a minute.

We have Sprint, and it was $2.49 a minute. There were quite a few "dropped" calls tho. When I got home and recieved our monthly bill, I circled all the one minute calls ( the dropped calls) and called Sprint to have them credited to our account. They did it with no problem.

Did you have to add a roaming plan or could you just make calls. I have sprint as well.. I do have the smilpy everything plan.....Wonder if I already have international roaming? Waiting untill they open to call 8am CST so 2 more hours untill I can call.

No, didn't have to do anthing, but..... we were cruising in the Bahamas, and another time in Cozumel.
