Red face Miami Car Rental Agency to Port of Miami

We are flying in to Miami the day before our cruise on the Valor. We're not booking the precruise through Carnival. There are six of us, two families. We're using our Marriott points for a stay on Miami Beach. We plan to rent a large van to get us all to the hotel, dinner, soda purchases etc.

Any recommendations for cruise day: Does any agency have a shuttle service to the Port or a drop-off at the port?

Thanks for any information and or suggestions.

Budget doesn't drop off (found that out the hard way!)
I have used Alamo and Thrifty and they both dropped off at the port for free.

Thank you for the replies. We have VIP embarkation. Any suggestions on the best time
to get catch the shuttle? Does it get very busy at a certain point? Meaning: Will we be waiting more than 30 minutes for a shuttle? We were planning on some beach time in the early morning and getting to the rental agency around noon.

Thanks.

Somehow I have hidden the responses. I can see them if I change the way the thread is formatted, but can't seem to have have them appear permanently. Hopefully others can see them....

Is any of this info current? The last time I tried Thrifty, they didn't offer a shuttle. Since they are hooked up with Dollar, they may be the same.

Hi,
Most car rentals have a shuttle from the airport, but Hertz has a location
Downtown.
Hertz will drop you off at the Port it takes about 5 minutes, when we use a shuttle I usually drop everyone off with the Luggage at the Port so that
they can check in the bags etc, I then return the car and hop on the shuttle, without Bags it is a breeze and usually takes about 30/40 minutes.
Other than that everyone can come back to the airport/Rental car agency anf get the shuttle together with the carry-ons.
With just the 1 person tho I can usually squeeze on an almost full shuttle
and am back in no time.

Does Alamo drop you off a central location at the port or does the shuttle go from terminal to terminal? I have trying to contact Alamo but either no one picks up or knows? Thanks.

The Alamo shuttle drops you off at your ship. We always drive the rental to the port and drop everyone and all the luggage off. One person takes the rental car / van back to the airport. That person rides the shuttle. This way the rest of the group has gotten in line an moving to the front. Usually takes 40 minutes or so to get back to the pier.

With the group in question from the OP, I would do this. Saves load of hassle, easier for one person to ride the shuttle back rather than having loads of people and luggage moving around.

Shuttles will go from ship to ship, and in my experience, it doesn't take that long either, about 30-45 mins if you catch it right..
