Yes, it is. Some tip just a dollar .. and others 15% of the fare.

Agreed. And don't forget. Taxi drivers are the same the world over. They NEVER have any change for big bills.

Yep. If you try to pay for your fare with a $20, they will get a nice tip. We usually tip a dollar per person. The drivers will remind you that they expect a tip.

Is a tip necessary when they charge per person to take you to Atlantis?

I've heard it is a five minute drive and $4.00 a head.

In addition to the $4 per person, we paid an additional fee for going over the bridge. I think it was about $1.
