Question When is the muster drill on night sails?

We are sailing on the Summit in Jan. We sail at 8:30, and I was wondering when they did the muster drill? Is there a conflict with dinner seatings? Or is it open seating the first night. We have the second seating, and I would hate to be sitting in the dining room when we sail out of San Juan. Any info would be great.

It will be before the first seating dinner. Probably 4:30PM +.-

Late arrivals who miss the drill will go the second day.

Our muster drill was just prior to first seating dinner. We met in the Rendezvous Lounge. Did not have to take the life jackets. We then proceeded to our speciality dining at 6:15. We sailed at 8:30. This was Nov. 16, Millennium out of San Juan. However, it was pouring rain there and that was probably one reason we met inside the ship.

We've been on late sailings where it was between the dinner seatings, after the last dinner seating and when it was held the next morning. And sometimes it was not the same time as that ship's prior sailings - although other cruiser's experiance on recent sailings on the same itinerary and ship are still your best guide.

This along with other questions seem to be posted very often. Maybe the cruiselines should take notice of the boards and post a FAQ section regarding each sailing. It sure would cut down on multiple postings for the same questions and give people the info they so desire.

We are sailing on dec 12th First sailing of the new winter season. It is fairly new having an 8:30pm departure (seems like it kinda screws up the sailaway party for late seating)
Anyway, my friend sailed on summit@8:30pm departure in march 09 and he remembers the muster drill was 5pm with a make-up the next day.
We will report back after our sailing and hopefully answer all your questions.

also note the rule is the drill must take place within 24 hours of the sailing-after is ok. so it can be held the next morning. I think one in the dark is a mistake unless its all held inside which many of the cruise lines now do. I have been on other cruise lines where it was held the next day at sea.
