Default Mexican Riviera Excursion with Kids

We will be sailing on Carnival Splendor in January with 2 adults and 4 children. We want to do an excursion with our kids (ranging from 9-15) at one of the ports. Out of the 3, Mazatlan, Cabo or Puerta Vallarta, which port would be the best and if you have suggestions on which excursions would be good, that would be great.

Thanks in advance!! :-)

I'll get back to you in a week. Leaving tomorrow for Long Beach. Getting on the Splendor Sunday. We have two girls (ages 6 & 11). We're doing the Las Caletas tour in PV and also a city tour with Mazatlan Frank in Mazatlan. (I'm a little worried about the tour with the girls, but Frank swears that they will love it)

We have two small children 4 and 6 and have signed up with Frank. We are doing a private tour and he said that after the morning he can make a stop back at the ship if the children need a break. Dh would stay with them while my parents and I cont. the tour. We will do the country side in the morning and then lunch and the city tour in the afternoon.

This way we don't have to worry about our kids bothering other adults if they need a bathroom break or an extra snack stop. For us since we are a party of 6 it was not that much more money. With only 4 it would be a bit more.

We plan to just hit the beach in Cabo the day before so they can get plenty of water time.

I am still debating PV. Maybe a resort or the pirate ship?

In Cabo go whale watching on one of the catamarans. We used Pez Gato--you can google them. Great time and the kids had a blast that were on our boat. We saw whales, dolphins and the sea lions.

Hope this helps!

This pirate ship - http://www.puertovallartatours.net/m...irate-ship.htm or http://www.piratesofthebaypv.com/

Not sure what ship you will be on but most ships arrive too late in the morning ... unless they are delaying their normal departure time to accommodate cruise ship passengers.

Default We did the pirate ship

We were on the Disney Magic in 2005 (can it really be that long ago?) and did the pirate ship in PV with our girls, then 5 and 7 years old. We enjoyed the show -- part Pirates of the Caribbean, part Musical -- although I thought it went on just a bit too long. Lunch was so-so (but you don't really go for the gourmet on these things). I enjoyed sailing on the old ship to the beach where we stayed for a few hours. It can be hot on deck -- take a light coverup and sunscreen.

We are going on the Splendor Jan 10-17 and have two 9 year old daughters! What sailing are you on? PV we are doing Dreams resort for the day and heading down to shop at the Malecon. In Maz we are doing Randi's Happy Horses, and in Cabo we are whale watching with Pez Gato.

We did the zodiac in Cabo- my son then 14 loved it and we will probably do it again in March- you were right down on the water. We saw whales and ended up in a huge pod of dolphins who were swimming under and around the boat.

We did this itinerary in August with our 14 year old son and 19 year old daughter. The highlights for them were Randi's Happy Horses in Mazatlan and Los Veranos Canopy tour in Puerto Vallarta. They are still talking about both of those tours!
