Default Just off the Monarch this morning

DH and I just got home from a 4 night on the Monarch. It was our first cruise. I plan on posting a full review after we get settled back home.

We loved it. We did run into a storm wednesday night, and then last night we were in some rough waters that left me feeling a bit sick - but as far as the cruise went we loved it. CocoCay was a piece of heaven on earth for us. They did a whole Thanksgiving meal for us last night at dinner complete with special scroll menus and turkey and ham and such. We also got fun little thanksgiving things throughout the trip like some mints and a thanksgiving card. One day they also had a RCI water bottle holder waiting for us in the room along with a card.

They had a few Thanksgiving activites on board as well such as a pumpkin pie eating contest, and a "Monarch of the Seas Thanksgiving Day Parade" on the pool side (it was raining during it though).

Anyways, I'm off to get unpacked and settled - I will post a review probably in a few days for anyone who is interested.

Any questions in the mean time?

Just off the Monarch too. Good as always. They are working 24/7 dredging Nassau harbor in anticipation of the Oasis getting there in about 10 days. Docked next to Explorer in Nassau....that ship towers over the Monarch...can't imagine how large Oasis will be in there!!

Where was your cabin and were you happy? We have obstructed ocean views for our upcoming cruise - deck 9. I guess the rooms are a little bigger than the standard ocean view.

hope the ship is still in good shape. We were on Monarch twice while she was in LA and had a blast. Glad you had a good time!

Deck 9 isn't obstructed view, really - you look out over the tops of the lifeboats. It's Deck 8 where they're hanging right outside your window. And Deck 9 is 154 sf vs 119 sf for the other OV cabins, and it's great to have that extra space. Enjoy!

Critterchick is absolutely right! We had a deck 9 obstructed view and it was great. Three of us and plenty of room. The lifeboats are outside your window on the deck so they're not in your view and also prevent anyone from looking in your window from the outside deck. We'd book it again in a heartbeat! And we paid $169 pp last January!

I actually just started a review here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1100444

We were in room 2026 and it worked perfectly fine for what we needed it to. It was small, but I prepared myself for the room to be a closet, therefore I would be surprised by how 'big' the room was.
