Hello everyone. I'm newly engaged and am looking for ideas on destination weddings. I am leaning heavily towards a cruise wedding with honeymoon and it has to absolutely be done on embarkation day in Los Angeles or San Diego. I've been perusing the boards a while but have not seen very many getting married at these ports.
And of course, I'm open to tips. I like the Hawaii cruises and even the Panama Canal cruise. I guess what I'm also saying is I'm overwhelmed with all the information out there. We are also on a tight budget. |

Hawaii wouldnt work... from what I have read you have to be bused from San Diego to Ensenada. I dont think that is a good idea. I would suggest either the panama or even just the mexican riviera. I was just married on the Elation in September and I LOVED every min of the experiance. So did all of my guests. I did not hear one complaint about anything. We had 50 guests and 19 sailing. I would not trade it for the world. Feel free to PM me with questions or e mail me. wendy opatik (at) yahoo (dot) com. I am more than happy to answer questions.
If you want any help pulling things together or anything like that let me know... I know it can be a hassle. I took the semester off school to do it! I am local... in Escndido! |

Actually, there are a number of cruiselines that leave directly from downtown San Diego. There are a ton that leave from LA, too. It kind of depends on how many days you want to cruise and if there is a specific cruiseline you want to get married on. Once you've decided those two things, then you can start looking at itineraries.
Once you've picked an itinerary you like, then look at dates. If you want more people to join you and you are flexible on dates, you might want to see when it's cheaper to cruise. The nice thing about San Diego and LA is that we have pretty great weather year round... |

I'm getting married Oct 2010 aboard the Carnival Spirit in San Diego. We will be going to Cabo San Lucas Mexico and Ensenada, Mexico. It's a five day cruise.

Hi there and congrats on your engagement! My fiance and I are getting married Sept 19,2010 in Vancouver, on embarkation day. We are getting married on the NCL Pearl. We chose that one for two reasons, the first leg is 5days and our guest that would like to sail with us would find it easier to take that time off. We also liked the itinerary, plus at the time NCL was one of the only cruislines that had their 2010 schedule out. We have not cruised yet with NCL the Pearl will be the first. We were able to take a tour of the ship while it was in the Port of Vancouver last Sept and loved the looks of the ship. Look at the itinerary, where you want to get married and price and you will be able to make your decision. Good luck.
