Default Roatan excursion companies

We will be visiting Roatan on our cruise in March 2010. We are a family of four (two teenage daughters). We would like to zipline and then perhaps visit a beach afterwards. The companies I have seen recommended on these threads are: Victor Bodden, Shoretrips, and Ronys. The prices are identical for Bodden and Ronys and a little less for Shoretrips. I do not know which company to choose. I am looking for input on which company to choose and why. All input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

I think if you search the boards a little more, you can find plenty of information on each. I chose to use Rony next week when we are there based on spending some time on these borads. I probably could have just as easily chosen Victor but Rony's operation seems to be a little smaller and more Mom and Pop if you will. I received my confirmation (automated) within an hours of booking online and a follow-up email from Rony making sure I got the confirmation. When I had additional questions, Rony called me and we went over what I was looking for which is basically, tour of the island and beach/snorkeling to end the day. Hope that help.

DW and I are going with Rony's too, for the same reason, to get a local experience. He has been quick to follow up and answer any questions we had.

You can also contact Mario and Lori at http://www.roatantouristinfo.com/ They are a very nice couple and really want to make sure you have a wonderful time in Roatan. They can arrange for anything you would be interested in doing. We arranged a sailboat/snorkel through them and they were fabulous!!

We had a private guide take us to Half-Moon bay, among other places. We used THERIS DIXON, a former employee of Boden. She and her company were EXCELLENT and very reasonable. http://www.roatancruiseshiptours.com/ I highly recommend her services. Here are some not-quite-professional pictures I took. It was my first experience ever at snorkeling:

Default roatanshoretours

I used roatanshoretours dot com and enjoyed them greatly. They are Americans that teach scuba on the island but also do tours for people wanting to do zip line or beaches etc. Very nice and actually refused the tip I offered them at the end of the day.
We did the Pirates of the Caribbean Canopy and then a beach break at the end. Very fun!

Hi Edge, did you do the regular or the extreme zip at pirates? Thanks, I'm still trying to decide.

We used Rony last week for kayak and snorkel and were very disappointed. He had us wait for 30 mins while he waited to great someone else (who was not part of our group) He drove us in his no airconditioning compact car. We got to the beach and he lumped us in with the cruiseline's excursion. So instead of a small excursion we were in with 30 of our newest best friends. Yes, Rony stayed there all day with us but his price wasn't any less than the cruiseline and I really didn't see any benefit to book with him.
