Thumbs up what to bring and what to ask for on your next Cruise


Cruise Ship RequestsbyMalcolm Hebert
1.)Egg crate Foamy (Mattress topper)(ask your cabin steward)
2.)Power electrical Bar (you bring along)
3.)Clothes hanger (20each)
4.)Fresh fruits delivered every morning before docking
5.)Cruise ship Coffee Card
6.)Soda Pop Card
7.)Newspaper delivered every morning (they do print it on the ship)
8.)Princess heavy cotton terry robes (ask your Cabin Steward)
9.)Ask for a free deck Playing Cards (purser desk)
10.)Last auction day, they offer spa to everyone who bids ( $50 )
11.)Ask for Feather Pillows (ask your Cabin Stewart)
12.)Ask for the Preference toilet paper in your bathroom (ask your Cabin Steward)
Things to bring along to make it more convenient
13.)Bring clothes-pins to attach at the bottom of the shower curtains
14.)Buy or bring a scrapbook, mesh laundry bag from the dollar store
15.)Bring on the ship 30 bottled water
16.)Always carry a beach bag, they never check for alcohol
17.)Bring on-board “ big Ziplock freezer bags” order room service , pack sandwiches )
18.) Gavascon, Solarcane, Tylenol 3, Aleve, Advil, Anbesol xtra, Big Band-aids,” Baby Gravol”
19.)Allergies sufferer, Visine , Benedryl, Inhalers, Hydrocortisone cream
20.)Highlighters, Binoculars, 4gb memory card, AA batteries, $100us in one dollar bills(tipping)
21.)Photocopy of your passport in one of your luggage
22.)'over the door shoe hanger' to put over bathroom door for all the little things that don't really "go" anyplace else and are easy to grab on your way out the door(22 CLEAR PLASTIC pocketed-over-the-door bag $6.97 from Walmart USA)
23.)Duct tape, used to tape bags, drawers from opening rough seas. Also Crazy glue 5mins
24.)Bungee cord to hold your balcony door open at nite while u sleep to the waves
25.)Insulated cooler from Walmart USA and insulated backpack
26.)lysol wipes to wipe down, knobs, handles, etc. Don't forget that people were living in that room just hours before you got there, also Dryer sheets in your dresser, smells nice
27.)miniature candy bars. wrap our dollars tip around the bar when we order room service, hand -them out to room stewards, waiters, assistant waiters and any other crew members I come across during our voyages. They love the treats and never forget you
28.)air freshener for bathroom, TIDE spot pen , Spray & Wash stick, and Walkie talkies,





I just want to thank all Cruise Critic and its members answering most of my questions in th epast and adding their experience(s) on here.
I have taken the time to make this for some of you that would enjoy this helpful list.



For those Canadians who want to bypass all those airport and border crossing line-ups when driving or flying, take the time and apply for a Nexus pass online. Its well worth it!

Wow--thank you so much for taking the time to make this list. Although we've cruised before, I hadn't thought of some of those things. And I really like the idea of wrapping the tip money around candy bars. I'm going to do that for sure when we cruise again in February.

A lot of unneccessary stuff but bring what you want, no one will stop you.


However.....those sandwiches might just end up in the trash bin as you disembark in port along with the fresh fruit if you plan on taking any of that off the ship. They generally don't fine you for taking food off, but many ports have warnings and they do thoroughly search your bags.

Great list. It's been a few years since I've cruised and this gave me some good ideas. I'm not taking this as a list of "you'll have to have all this stuff" but there are some good ideas and I wouldn't blame anyone for copying the whole thing. It just depends on your style.
