Default Fascination Drydock...booking a balcony

Does anyone know if the Fascination will get balconies added during its drydock like some of the other fantasy class ships? Im looking to book an Aug 2010 cruise and the deck plans currently show no balconies but you can pick the "fun saver" and get a balcony guarantee. It's a bit confusing.

You can book a balcony, but you can't choose a room, just guarantee balcony. They are being added 1/2010 and done by Feb 2010 according to my PVP.

We are booked for December 2010!

If you know which rooms are being converted you can specifically ask for a cabin. I've had my balcony room assigned since Sept because I asked for it

Really? I'm calling my PVP, she told me I couldn't request a specific cabin...since they didn't know which ones would be balconies yet..(BS, I know, but I didn't want to argue with her until I was sure).

Which ship did you use for reference in asking for your desired cabin? I want an aft cabin, but we have 3 people, me, my husband and our son. Any ideas which cabin that would be, each ship that has had the refit has different cabins for 3 people listed, not all are in the same spot???

THANKS!

!
yes really! As soon as i found out Fascination was getting balconies I called my PVP to see if the aft rooms were getting balconies..she said YES and switched my booking to a aft room. ( *secret* Since she did it before the official reveal of the new plans...all Im paying for the rm is the original aft price, not the upgraded balcony)

Anywho...the new decks plans are on carnival.com, but if you cant find it look at the Ecstasy or Sensation deck plans...its the same as what the Fasicination is going to be.

To OP, heres a tip, that may work. look at the Sensation deck plans. They are sister ships. THe Fascination will go to dry dock in January, and from what I understand the deckplan will be either identical or very similar. Also, on the Carnival site, you can look at the deck plan post refurb. Good luck picking your room. We're booked in M21, one of those IS with a porthole. Have fun!

I requested a OV that I knew would be a balcony on the Ecstasy. They called me later after the balconys were official and said either pay $120 pp more or we will move you to a OV of the same class that isnt a balcony.

If you are able to book a OV still, Id like to know. Im still upset about how they took my booking at a set price then demanded more $$$. If I knew they would be balconies, then Carnival knew.

Thumbs up Balconies on the Fascination!

DH and I are so excited to hear this because we live 50 miles from Jax and sail on the Fascination often because it's so close. We book the Penthouse suites because I have to have a balcony (high maintenance) and now that regular cabins will have balconies, it won't cost us so darn much I had tried to book the Fascination for MLK weekend several weeks ago and noticed the ship was unavailable for January and figured it was going into drydock. Today is the first day I've heard about the addition of balconies, though. Whoo hoo!
Happy Holidays everyone!
