Default Best Cruise memory?

I posted this on another board, but...What is your most memorable cruise experience? I would love to hear the great stories!

About a week into my September 22, 2001 transatlantic cruise I woke up in the middle of the night and stepped outside on the corner aft family cabin balcony of the Celebrity Millennium. I had an American flag attached to one of the supporting poles. As I went out, I saw a US Navy ship about 100 yds. away from us, heading eastward. The young man on watch, saw the flag and saluted. I waved to him. I also wished that all these young people would come back in one piece. That was very magical. To this day I don't know why I woke up at that moment.

Same cruise. I put a note into a bottle in the middle of Atlantic. It took 6 years but one day just before Christmas in 2007 I received a letter from somebody in Arizona. I opened it and it was from a couple that just came back from a vacation in Bahamas. They found the bottle on the beach. The note was hardly readable but still good enough to figure it out. 6 years.... I forgot all about it.

2 week trans-Atlantic on TSS Stefan Batory from Gdynia, Poland to Montreal, Canada. Moving to our new country - USA. I celebrated my 12th birthday on the ship. My sister, 16, and my father also celebrated their birthdays on the ship. The captain would arrive at our dining table on our birthdays and present us with a birthday card with his signature and a picture of the ship. They also had a small group of waiters sing a Happy Birthday to us and gave us a full size cake. By the time we got mine, we were so sick of the cakes that I donated it to the crew. My mom was the only one that didn't get the "special" treatment.

Our most memorable Cruise was Oct 11, 2008 for our 40 Anniversary and RT Hawaii on the ROS. Everything, service, food, entertainment, Luau at the OLL, were outstanding,

I know I've had at least one for every cruise I've been on... but my favorite is pulling up at the port of Miami in 2002 and seeing the Explorer of the Seas for the first time... I hadn't been on a cruise since 1984... talk about the "wow factor". It was my husband's first cruise, and probably the best ship I ever could have taken him on. We've been on 5 since with a back-to-back coming up in January! Soooo glad I got him hooked!

Sitting at dinner last week on the Indy laughing myself silly at my two sons. They are VERY funny guys, and a little wine makes it even better.

Getting to spend time with son #2's fiancee, who we love dearly and see them about twice a year.

great stories. so how close do ships "pass in the night"?

Our best memory was the entire first cruise last year for our 25th anniversary, it was all fantastic!! And we met such wonderful people we joined up again and went on the same cruise this year. Do you think we are hooked??
