Each cabin has a safe that you can use for your jewelry. We have left laptops and camera's in the room and never had a problem.

There are safes in every cabin. I would recommend that you lock all valuables in the safe if they will fit. Depending on the size of your laptop, not sure if it will fit in the safe.

Over 30 years of cruising and have never had anything missing or taken from my cabin. I've left cameras, laptop, jewelry out with nothing touched. I also keep a stack of one dollar bills in the top drawer of the vanity for room service tips and misc. tipping during the week..usually 50.00...never been touched.

All the rooms have a small safe. Things like jewelry, your camera, binoculars, your wallet, extra cash, extra credit cards, etc., other small items will fit in there easily. Laptops won't -- but lots of folks leave them in the room or "hide" them in a drawer so they're not easily seen.

I'm more concerned about people walking along the hallway and snatching something, than I've ever been concerned about crew staff stealing something. I've even (inadvertently!) left the safe open, only to find a note from the room steward telling me that he found it open, closed it, and if I have a problem opening it or want help figuring out how to close it, to please let him know and he'd be glad to show me.

I personally think they're a lot safer with you, then left in a parked car in a parking garage! (And if you're going to leave them in your car, why bring them along anyway??)

Iv seen times when the steward was cleaning they turned their back on a cabin that had the door opened when they were cleaning. Just to be safe, I wouldnt leave things laying around where another pax could step in and grab something. Rare but it could happen. Its not the cabin stewards I dont trust.

Dont leave valuables laying in plain sight is my rule, at least put them away in the suitcase or out of sight, like a laptop.

Whatever you do dont leave it in your car, break ins occur quite alot at the piers. I know this is far fetched but in our area we are having a problem with people going to the airport, breaking into cars and not taking anything but the car registration. Then they know that you are away for awhile and they have your home address, and they go have a hay day while your out, they have even targeted movie theaters now also. More at your home than your car, but still like most above said if its hidden in your room nobody will mess with it.

I was going to say the same thing. I'll go one step further and flat-out say that if you're that worried about it being stolen, leave it at home.

That is very very true.
