Default Playa/Calica-Gourd Lights and Bars

Looked in the port of call thread but all seemed pretty quiet.
Anyone know any good bars close to ship in Calic- going on Jan 11th....dont want loud crazy club with "booty contest".. only take that for so long.
Also.. what about the Gourd lights.. have seen them and I think they are mostly from Playa Del Carmen.. anyone know good place to get them!!

We were in Calica about 2 1/2 years ago. From my recollection, there's nothing really there except the dock and a few vendors. We took a cab to Playa Del Carmen (about 15 minute ride if I remember correctly). If you walk along the cobblestone street in Playa del Carmen, there's all sorts of cafes, shops, restaurants. The beach there is beautiful. It is very quaint and cruiser friendly. Just give yourself plenty of time to get back to the ship. Even though it was a short cab ride, we timed our return to the ship so that we had more than an hour to spare before the ship pulled out.
