We just got off the New Years sailing. It was WONDERFUL!! After the 19 inches of snow the weekend before Christmas, we decided to go someplace warm and the Destiny was the best deal. We got a "Night Owl" inside cabin for 499.00 a person. Pretty darn good for a New Years Eve cruise. I would not specifically book the NO cabin again unless it was a super good price. We did hear the bass boom each night, but it wasn't too awful. It would wake us up a couple times, but we just fell right back to sleep.

The ship itself was beautiful and roomy. I love the food options on Carnival much more than the other lines. I do wish they had the Supper Club, but no biggie. All the food we had was excellent and they had the Warm Chocolate Melting Cake available every night in both the MDR and the Lido Buffet, so I was happy. We did anytime dining and it was good, never had to wait for a table.

This was our first time to Half Moon Cay and it is my new favorite private Island! Absolutely gorgeous and the sandy bottom in the water was great! Grand Turk was also gorgeous. We rented a golf cart and drove to the lighthouse at the other end of the island, cruised around, watched the donkeys and ended up at Governor's beach. Very nice! No rocky bottom like at the port beach.

We spend lots of time in the casino and it is so open and roomy. I actually ended up ahead for the first time in a loooong time.....

We spent most of our time onboard in the aft pool area. Very relaxing and calm. The main pool area always looked like Times Square on New Years Eve..... Love the ice cream machines everywhere! On RCCL, there is usually only 1 and it is only available for short periods each day. Pizza was good... And the best thing is Carnival (and Princess) let you bring your own wine onboard. I've pretty much stopped cruising RCCL because they confiscated my wine on our last cruise with them. As well as a bottle of Hazelnut coffee syrup......

We will definitely look at booking the Destiny again!!!
I was on this same cruise and totally agree - wonderful time, no problems. We had balcony room #6295 and would do it again!

Yes, the main pool was crowded...we mostly avoided that area and also stayed aft...or hung out in other areas.

DD and I went horseback riding on Grand Turk, had a blast. Also loved Half Moon Cay...rented the purple cabana, and it was worth every penny. New Years Day we hung out with the locals at Junkanoo (sp?) street party/parade in Nassau.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
