Default Preferred Marriott for Pre-cruise stay in Miami

Hello All,
I'll be cruising out of Miami late summer and am looking for a hotel for a pre-cruise 1 night stay. I like Marriott brands and was looking at the Marriott Biscayne Bay and Courtyard Miami Downtown. Any recommendations on one over the other? I'd like something within close proximity to the Port and access to shopping/eating establishments and maybe a quick hop over to South Beach.

I appreciate any/all feedback. Thanks.

All the good shopping and eating is not downtown. If I were you, I'd just stay in South Beach. The Courtyard South Beach (NOT Miami Beach) is excellent as is the Marriott South Beach. The Ritz-Carlton is pretty cool also.
