Hi Kellyclayt:

I'm also on the July 10th cruise on the Eclipse. Come over to the roll call and meet some others.

If you have never been to Europe before, as we had, we wanted to fly into London and stay a few days there. London is an amazing city. From there, we were able to see Windsor Castle, Bath, and Stonehege. We also did the eurostar for a quick stopover in Paris. We figured, if we are going to do it, let's see as much as we can. Plus the airfare to London is much cheaper than to Copenhagen. I understand Copenhagen is a beautiful city, we loved our stop over there, but it just doens't compare to London, at least that's MVHO.
We are going on a Baltics cruise this summer that leaves from Dover. We will have 3 full days pre and post cruise in London. One of the things that I want to do is visit Stonehenge and Windsor Castle. Did you take an organized to visit Stonehenge? Is Windsor Castle easy to get to by train?
Thanks for your help.

YES, Windsor is very easy to reach from London via train. The rail station is right across the street from where you go for the tours at Windsor. Below are some visuals for what you will see on the White Cliffs of Dover and Dover Castle that towers over the harbor, plus a couple samples for wonderful London.

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

We did a day trip on Evan Evans tours to do Windsor, Bath and Stonehenge. We loved it. yes, it just gives you a taste of the three places, but that is exactly what we were looking for. there are several outfits that do this tour. if you are interested, I can let you know a web site to get a cheaper rate and it is still Evan Evans.
Getting to Stonehenge, you might say, was on my ['Bucket List, or 1,000 places to See before I die. I just loved it. Windsor was great and Bath also. It is a full day, but you accomplish a lot. You can get to Windsor by train, but if your time is limited, this is the best way to see all three.

Some Pix of these sites

Stonehenge

Just remember, at Stonehenge, you cannot touch the stones anymore. In fact, you cannot get closer than about 50 feet to them. Some companies do have a tour where you can go into the circle and touch them, but that just did not fit into our schedule.

Again, any question, please do not hesitate to ask.

THANKS, Carol for the kind comment on my pictures! Len's pictures look very nice and bring back wonderful memories from visiting Bath and Windsor Castle. Have not been to be Stonehenge, yet. Before we did our Baltics cruise in July 2008, we did five days in southern England around Royal Tunbridge Wells seeing many castles, great gardens, Churchill's country home, etc. Had super weather and enjoyed many nice scenic and historic sites.

For Carol's Baltics trip, be sure to use the search function on this CC Board. Many great and helpful postings on f this website and the one covering England.

Enjoy! Terry in Ohio
